L'Angolo del Poeta is a pleasant B+B in the lower Bergamo area. It is reasonably centrally located in the lower town and the walk up to the Citta Alta only takes about 15 mins (once you have acquired a decent map of the area). There are a few restaurants in the local area but many were closed when we were there in August. There are also a number of shops very close to the B+B. The B+B is in a nice 16th Century building surrounding a courtyard. Our room was quite large and had some nice decorative stonework above the bed and in the bathroom. The room had most things we needed including free WIFI, a TV, Minibar and tea and a kettle. There was no airconditioning - probably because they are not allowed to change the old building - but a fan was provided and this kept us reasonably cool even in the August heat. When you checkin, you are asked at what time you would like breakfast and this is served in your room each morning. The breakfasts were fairly simple: eggs, cheese, toast and yoghurt with tea, coffee and orange juice. There were a couple of minor issues with the room. The towels provided in the bathroom were very small - more like hand towels than bath towels. The room had a bath that had a hand shower attached but this was not very convenient if we just wanted a quick standup shower. There is also no shower curtain so we flooded the floor when we tried to use it like this. The issues were very minor though and we had a very pleasant time at L'Angolo del Poeta. For the price, it is a very good place to stay,

We went to Bergamo for a family wedding and found it hard to locate reasonable accommodation for a family of 2 adults and 2 boys aged 9, 12. ON reading review of the L'angolo del Poesta we decided to book 2 nights in one of the family rooms. we were not disappointed , friendly welcome , allowed us to check in early , nice comfortable beds, great shower and breakfast delivered to the room on time , which was also superb. If going back to Bergamo we would stay here again. only 10 min walk to the train station. Great value for Money

We were given a room looking out on a very narrow but (as appeared later) extremely busy and noisy street with continous traffic (mostly scooters)all night long and with no airconditioning so that it was absolutely impossible to sleep. Perhaps, other rooms facing the patio are more quiet.

The main (and only) problem was the fact that the room was above a very noisy small river, so we did not sleep very well; the owner is very friendly and the breakfast in the room was perfect, even at a very early hour in the morning

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at L'Angolo del Poeta. The room was clean, large and comfortable for a family of four. Paolo was a very gracious host and extremely obliging when we needed to organise an early breakfast on two mornings. The accommodation is well located, within walking distance of the Citta Alta, and is close to several restaurants which Paolo recommended. The room was very reasonably priced, and internet access was a bonus.

L'Angolo del Poeta is in an ideal location for exploring both the Old and New City. The Prestini family were very friendly, helpful and welcoming during our stay and we fully intend to return in the future. Our room was very charming, comfortable and spacious.

I just spend one night but would like to come back for more nights. The room was fantastic, a mix between old and ultra modern, like a design hotel. We came late in the evening and left early in the morning so I can not comment the service other than we got a nice breakfast at the room as we left before the breakfast was served. That´s nice service

A great accommodations at a great price for quality and service offered. The room assigned to me was large and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and served in the room. The room had a kettle and tea to use when you wanted. Very well heated room with a large bathroom. Excellent deal. Pick up service from airport cheaper than taxis in the city. Highly recommended.

We hade a lovely time att this place. Very friendly staff (Simonetta, Attilo and Paolo, and of course the nice lady at the breakfast). The room we hade was very good and Bergamo is a nice town. One thing you should think about: The location is not that close to Citta Alta that you can think. Best wishes Per and family

I stayed in a triple room, very spacy and romantic. The breakfast was terrific but best of all - the hospitality. Walking distance to the Citta Alta and the railwaystation. Bergamo is much cosier than Milano as well as the prices...

Providers of accommodatioon a delightful couple. Met at railways station as arranged and also used their service to drop us at the airport.Very obliging as we had a early morning flight. Old establishment so bedroom adequate but basic. Didn't have time to sample the breakfast as left too early. Need to catch a bus and funicular to get to old Bergamo which is well worth a visit. Too far to walk from accommodation.

A super B&B with high standard rooms although the building is several hundred years old. A place with atmosphere! The personell is also very friendly and there are so few rooms that you get to know them quite well during your stay.

Paolo and his staff were very pleasant taking good care of us and our room. The B&B is in an ideal location for accessing both the old and new areas of Bergamo. It is also near to the train station if you plan to travel furthur a field. Our room was modern yet still contained the traditional features of the building. There was plenty of breakfast and the restaurants recommended to us were very good. I will be staying at L'Angola Del Poeta next time I stay in Bergamo.

The owners of the bed and breakfast are very friendly, very good hosts; they do everything to make you feel comfortable. We loved the house and the people. We stayed several times in Milan, this was our first stay in Bergamo. We liked this place very much. Next time we would like to stay a bit longer in Bergamo, and we intend to stay at Angolo del Poeta again, if possible.

Spacious room and spacious bathroom, in a nice and quiet house. Pity that there is no parking place for private car, cause the B&B is located in busy shopping street, and it can be a bit tricky to find a parking place. Be patient, it's holiday after all

Our first stay at L'Angola del Poeta. The hosts could not have been more helpful - eeven meeting us at the station with their car in an absulute downpour. We were late arriving due to a very late train, yet they not only met us, but helped us to find a reataurant where we could get a late meal. They affer a service to the airport. We would certainly go again. It was also only a 15 minute walk to the Old walled town

Lovely place with very friendly and helpful owners. Quite a long walk to get to Citta Alta but it takes you through some interesting parts of Lower Bergamo so this did not matter. Local restaurants which were recommended were excellent and very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Very friendly welcome. Electricity sometimes went off at night for hours, which meant that the milk was not so fresh the next day at breakfast, and the fan would not work, which made it hot for sleeping. Very good location for visiting the old town and well appointed room.
