La Rosa Blu Bed & Breakfast - Bari

La Rosa Blu is OK to stay at. It is a problem that it is hard to find, both if you come by your own car or by taxi. The rooms where nice, but the airconditioning didnt work. The landlady was very serviceminded.

* it's good to know that the house is located in a gated neighbourhood. It's very isolated from restaurants and cafes * the location is not easy to find. The describtion is insufficient when you are travelling whith a car. * a good location when you have to leave very early by plane in Bari airport. * it's not a cosy house and room. * the house is very noisy (partly cause it's plainly furnished. * a very good breakfast: home made cake etc.

We were brought to room by Italian only speaking staff and left there / no greeting what so ever - no keys/no maps/nothing. Later were given keys and directions to bus stop, so we could get into town. That evening keys were taken taken away/tried to take passports. English speaking staff showed up at 7pm and demanded full payment in advance. Keys again taken away at 7am next morning. Was hassled in Italian entire stay / completely gated (barbed wire/walled w/ broken glass) residential neighborhood - no place to go /nothing to do or see / no maps or staff to help w/anything. No public area other than outside on terrace / pretty much confined to bedroom / felt like we were in jail, esp. when we were w/o keys. Kitchen dirty - was cleaned that night (8-11pm)-very noisy / could hear everything in kitchen - cleaning as well as arrival of other guests. Anytime out of bedroom was hassled & watched by staff - horrble feeling / no privacy. Nice apartments, but still under construction. Bathroom sink is laundry tub. Left ASAP and sat in airport rather than at apartment. Would not stay at again nor recommend.

- Impossible to find by yourself - Take by road "Bari-Palese" and not "Palese" alone - B&B is in a secure area (no risk to be stolen)

The hotel is situated in a ´residence`and not easy to find,not even for local people. So you better do´nt try but have an immediate phone call to the hotel after your arrival - and Italo - a wonderful helpful guy - or his wife or his daughter will pick you up and bring you to his hotel and if you like als to a good restaurant. Italos service is excellent-I never found a better one. If you are British or US, forget the breakfast.

This is a good place to stay if you are getting into the airport late or need to catch a plane early in the morning. Very nice host, but it seems like they are still getting this place set up. Our room was clean and entirely furnished from IKEA. It was in the basement, but we didn't mind as we were only there one night.
