This place is very noisy at night but we were well aware of this when we booked. It's central location is excellent and makes up for the noise. We got exactly what we expected, the website doesn't overstate the premises and facilities. The only suprise we got was the amount of tax we has to pay. We paid 190 euro for our stay and an extra 45 euro in taxes. But if you're on a budget and can live with noisy nights then this is as good as any.

Difficult to find the hotel. There are no signs for the hotel. The Hotel is in a large building that is full of hostels, so I had to keep asking people where hotel gabriel is. It is not much of a Bread and Breakfast....in fact the breakfast is not much of a breakfast at all. Also, be prepared to climb 97 steps everytime you go to the room. The room is above a very loud street in which people party all night long, noise didn't bother me, but if it bothers you I would suggest bringin ear plugs becasue the people on the street below party until 2am to 4am. The room was very big and had a small safe to keep your belongings. Beds were comfortable and clean. The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk 5 minutes to Cathedral, La Rambla, El Born neighborhood. My stay overall was good. I just had difficulty finding the hotel. There is also a charge of 5euro per person per night that was a surprise to me....so for me I paid an additional 30 Euros that I did not expect to pay.

Excellent location for the price. Can be difficult to locate the hostel as there is no name on the door or any buzzer indicating it is there. The owner spoke no English so was difficult trying to understand her, but she did seem friendly. The location is great, situated a short walk from la rambla and in the heart of the gothic quarter.

Brilliant location, really close to all attractions and beautiful surroundings. Our room was a little small with no window but that is what we paid for :) the only negative point is that once you enter through the main door to the building it is difficult to know which front door is for B&B Gabriel and how to find the woman owning the property, but other than that it was really clean and has a nice kitchen and bathroom.

Negatives: Very noisy because of proximity of a bar downstairs and disposition of rooms (everybody who comes to the common space is heart as being in your room), breakfast supply really very basic Positives: Excellent location, authenticity of the old building, cleanness

Our stay in this apartment was simply amazing. It was super clean and Gabriel is a very nice person. The apartment is located in the center of Barri Gotic. Of course it was noisy, but there is no point of going to Barcelona if you are not staying in the center of the city and have immediate access to simply everything, which I enjoyed a lot. I love Barcelona and next time I will definitely stay in one of Gabriels apartments.

It's a great place to stay while you are in Barcelona. It doesn't cost a lot and you have everything you need: a clean room, a bathroom, a kitchen with all utilities. It's located near the Metro station and bus stations, so you don't have to walk a lot to get somewhere. It's great!

We had a comfortable and very enjoyable time in the newly-renovated, fully-equipped apartment. The secure entrance to the four apartments is just 25 metres from Placa Reial that opens on to the social hub of La Rambla. Beause there is not yet a 24 hour office, contacting Gabriel requires a Spanish SIM in your mobile upon arrival. Once contacted, Gabriel was extremely obliging, generous, friendly and he speaks English and Italian at least. Thanks for a lovely Barcelona experience!

We stayed in a very large, 2 bdrm apt with sparsely but adequately equipped kitchen and balcony. The apt would have easily fit 5-6 ppl, and is ~ one block's distance off La Rambla, around the corner from a stretch of street that included a sex shop, which looked a bit sketchy, but which we walked by at all times of the day with no one bothering us. Clean, quiet, good beds, very helpful host. Very basic furnishings, (which however included an expresso machine and a filtered water pitcher!). You have to be careful, when using the shower not to use up the hot water and it is very hard to direct the shower head when set in the holder, but overall excellent value for the money.

The location it is in the center of the city (Carrer Ample) very comfortable, clean, friendly. We share the bathroom, kitchen and the sitting room. Good design. We didn’t pay for the wifi. Coffee, juice, jam, bread, cereals and croissant also for free every morning. If you compare with a hostel for the some price it is more pleasure. The inconvenient was the prepaid promotion you have to do a banker’s order and the check in have to be arranged previously. You need to know the address in advance because there are three B&B close each other. The crew doesn't speak English (just manager speaks English, Italian and Spanish) but that service for that price was reasonable. Our room was small but very comfortable with TV, refrigerator, double bed, private bathroom inside room, quite minimal but good, the window was in the bathroom not in the bed room. But for 25€ pp was excellent!

Excellent location, close to the major points of interest. La Rambla, el Barrio Gotico, the cathedral, Barceloneta and the beach at walking distance. All limitations are described by the owner on the web page. We had a great experience, the only small issue we encountered was about the communication of the plane being late, since there is a penalty for unannounced late check in and when we arrived, we didn't have the chance to talk with a non-Spanish speaker. A bit stressful but nothing that we couldn't manage.

When we arrived at the address given for the hotel, there were no signs anywhere. We spend a half an hour trying to access a public telephone. When we finally got a hold of someone, they told us they didn't have room for us and were moving us to another location (farther from the center/Ramblas area). It was clean and quiet, but not worth the inconvenience.

Nice Hostel, clean friendly staff, light room. Close to beach and city center. Already recommended to others. Only problem is the noise from outside. Fortunately we took earplugs. The second problem is that it is a little bit hard to find inside the building. One really has to make an appointment with Gabriel, so that he can show one in. Apart from that everything perfect. The only thing I would make note of is that you need to be able to call them if you are arriving or checking in late. Our train got in after 11pm and we found the address listed but it was only the office address and there was no answer at the door. However, the owner was watching out the window a few doors down and came out and guided us to the hotel site. The hotel was great and the owner was very friendly.

I would not recommend this hotel. We arrived at the address having given the host the time of our arrival only to find an unmarked apartment complex with no one around. We had to walk up and down the apartment complex asking people if they knew of the hotel and when one finally did we ran into the proprietor of b and b gabriel- an hour later than our check in time and he let us in. The room was fine, it is more like staying in a room at a friends house than a b and b as there is no one around to assist you and you are living amongst people you do not know. Breakfast is packaged rolls 1 per person. Internet is extreamly slow. Location is excellent.

I was living in simple small double room with window, but without daylight, because the wall was in the front of window. So if you want to have proper window - take the room with balcony (in Barcelona almost all windows are balcony). I liked the bathroom, which was small, but clean - maximum service on minimum space - like on the ship. The kitchen was fully equiped and very clean (fridge, glasses, cutlery, plates, coffee, tee, toasts, cereal, milk, etc). One can also use leaving room to have breakfast. Just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view on the narrow street.

If all you want, is being able to sleep for the lowest price possible and you don't want to stay in a tent, then this is the place to be. The room does have a shower and a toilet but the space of the bathroom is minimal. Not recommendable for people that are accustomed to some degree of luxury. If you're used to camping then this is ok.

Room and bathroom small but very good comfort: kitchen breakfast when we wanted good value for money. excellent location. We arrived at a time very expensive in Barcelona and at the same price you could only have a HOSTEL ..... Gabriel is certainly much better than a hostel ... is clearly not a luxury hotel, so avoid if you look for the book by Liu luxury for a price so low. by gabriele

Gabriel and Marina are very nice people and are always here for you at any time ! The room was very clean and nice. The public areas (toilets, bathroom) were also very clean. It was a very nice and typical Barcelona appartment. The negative point was the noise. It was very noisy as the walls are very thin. But I guess that some people, also staying in the B&B just don't care about making noise and just don't respect other people's sleep. Overall, we had a wonderfull stay and I definitly recommand Gabriel's B&B. Just keep in mind that you won't get a lot of sleep... but, you're in Barcelona :)

The hotel is in perfect location, we just used public transport on 2 out of 5 days! There are plenty of bars and restaurants close. One of our favourite was Andu, a really nice wine bar! We had an enjoyable stay at B&B Garbriel. Travelling with 2 small children, Gabriel gave us 2 rooms (sleeping room and sitting room), which was great! The place is basic, but we knew that coming in. We had plenty of room and the kichen/laundry access was great. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The area around the B&B isn't the nicest, and it was loud at night. The only thing that was truly disappointing was the centerpiece of the table filled with condoms. We were glad that our children are young enough that they couldn't see. Perhaps they could be put in a more discreet location. Overall, we had a great experience and would reccomend it for those looking for a budget option.

Excellent value for money in an expensive city. Particularly good if there are 3 or 4 people sharing a room. Great location. Wouldn't recommend as a place to stay for couples wanting a romantic getaway as the walls are very thin(!)and the rooms are directly off the communal area, but if you're on a budget and want to be in a central location this is The Place. The owner, Gabriel, is very welcoming and has lots of advice and information on the city.

Bed and Breakfast Gabriel was exactley what we wanted which was cheap, clean accomodation in Barcelona. We stopped in an apartment which was within a minutes walk from the sea. The apartment was very clean, food for breakfast was there when we arrived and Gabriel was in contact to see if more was required. The rooms were very quiet as was the surrounding area as its in a residential block. If you are wanting 5 star accomodation then look elsewhere, if you are wanting a great location then this is for you. We will be returning im sure.

Ci torneremo sicuramente.

The entrance, stairs etc look poor, but as soon as you are in the appartment everything is forgotten, as the rooms are beautiful, good beds, perfect bathroom. Use of kitchen and laptop with free internet, was very convenient. Service from Tony the housekeeper was excellent and friendly. We felt at home and we would certainly stay here again. Excellent value for money.

The hostel would not pass an inspection. There was no breakfast available and both the room and common areas we not very clean. We had no privacy and we could not lock our room. The best about the hostel is the location.
