Bed and Breakfast Gabriel - Barcelona

Nice Hostel, clean friendly staff, light room. Close to beach and city center. Already recommended to others. Only problem is the noise from outside. Fortunately we took earplugs. The second problem is that it is a little bit hard to find inside the building. One really has to make an appointment with Gabriel, so that he can show one in. Apart from that everything perfect. The B&B Gabriel was perfect for our short week-end in Barcelona. The location was very good and we enjoy the flat's style. And it's not expensive for all its qualities!

Perfect stay for those who cannot pay big money in the centre of the city. But do not forget that it's a 100% old centre with it's noise and dark streets in the night. Recommended for experience travellers without big ambitions.

The only thing I would make note of is that you need to be able to call them if you are arriving or checking in late. Our train got in after 11pm and we found the address listed but it was only the office address and there was no answer at the door. However, the owner was watching out the window a few doors down and came out and guided us to the hotel site. The hotel was great and the owner was very friendly.

Room it's fine,clean and comfortable, price quality relationship was ok (even if without comforts such clima or tv),area near Rambla, very noisy, item in the common kitchen dirty (other people fault), poor quality of breakfast but overall a satisfying stay

I would not recommend this hotel. We arrived at the address having given the host the time of our arrival only to find an unmarked apartment complex with no one around. We had to walk up and down the apartment complex asking people if they knew of the hotel and when one finally did we ran into the proprietor of b and b gabriel- an hour later than our check in time and he let us in. The room was fine, it is more like staying in a room at a friends house than a b and b as there is no one around to assist you and you are living amongst people you do not know. Breakfast is packaged rolls 1 per person. Internet is extreamly slow. Location is excellent.

I was living in simple small double room with window, but without daylight, because the wall was in the front of window. So if you want to have proper window - take the room with balcony (in Barcelona almost all windows are balcony). I liked the bathroom, which was small, but clean - maximum service on minimum space - like on the ship. The kitchen was fully equiped and very clean (fridge, glasses, cutlery, plates, coffee, tee, toasts, cereal, milk,etc). One can also use leaving room to have breakfast. Just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view on the narrow street.

We stayed for 5 days and this B&B was exactly what we were looking for. Centrally located - walking distance from the beach and main attractions. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the rooms were in great condition and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place.

If all you want, is being able to sleep for the lowest price possible and you don't want to stay in a tent, then this is the place to be. The room does have a shower and a toilet but the space of the bathroom is minimal. Not recommendable for people that are accustomed to some degree of luxury. If you're used to camping then this is ok.

Very good location, old historical building with interesting interior. Friendly staff ready to help, no disturbing into your staying there. Completely equipped kitchen ready to use. Unexpectedly quiet rooms! The only difficulty for heavy or aged people is rather high steep stairs (no lift). Very good variant of staying in Barcelona for this price!!

We have reserved a special pre-paid by bank transfer. everything went well. it was as we expected. A god Bed and Breakfast. We booked a room with a private bathroom outside the room. Room and bathroom small but very good comfort: kitchen breakfast when we wanted good value for money. excellent location. We arrived at a time very expensive in Barcelona and at the same price you could only have a HOSTEL ..... Gabriel is certainly much better than a hostel ... is clearly not a luxury hotel, so avoid if you look for the book by Liu luxury for a price so low. by gabriele

We came to town with an over-sized van and Gabriel drove all over town with me to help me find underground parking that would accommodate a 2.5 meter tall Sprinter, which isn't an easy task. He went above and beyond, making sure we had maps and knew where everything was. Great location, the heart of the Gothic area!!

I HAVE BEEN IN THE BB GABRIEL AND HIS FRIEND IN cARRER AMPLE. iS STRANGE TO FIND SOME VERY BAD REVIEW BECAUSE MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN VERY NICE AND GOOD VALUE. THEN DONT WORRY TO PAY 3 NIGHT IN ADVANCE. IN MY EXPERIENCE THE APARTAMENT IS NICE, QUITE ,VERY CLEANING. MY ROOM WAS WITHOUT WINDOW BUT WITH EXTERNAL PRIVATE BATH , SMALL ROOM AND SMALL BATH BUT RELLY GOOD VALUE AND CLEANED. NICE AND AUTONOMY WAS THE SELFSERVICE BREAKFAST BECAUSE I USED TO WAKE/UP LATER IN THE MORNING BUT IN THE KITCHEN THERE WERE ALWAYS MILK JUCE ,CEREAL ,BREAD, BUTTER ,COFFE ,SUGAR BISCUITS AND IN MY PART OF THE FRIDGE GABRIEL EVERY NIGHT PUT 1/2 CROISSANT FOR PERSON.

Not going to that place and I don't recommend it!

I was in Barcelona for 4 days, and I don't met Gabriel all 4 days. The bad was good, but it was strange, that Gabriel doesn't show himself.

Excellent position in the middle of gothic barrio. Good price, in relationship with other offers. Really little room, but fine. Really little bath, it's even quite difficult to have a shower.

Gabriel and Marina are very nice people and are always here for you at any time ! The room was very clean and nice. The public areas (toilets, bathroom) were also very clean. It was a very nice and typical Barcelona appartment. The negative point was the noise. It was very noisy as the walls are very thin. But I guess that some people, also staying in the B&B just don't care about making noise and just don't respect other people's sleep. Overall, we had a wonderfull stay and I definitly recommand Gabriel's B&B. Just keep in mind that you won't get a lot of sleep... but, you're in Barcelona :)

Very helpful and friendly staff. I forgot my things at the B&B and they were so kind to send them to me, if that isn't service? The building we stayed in is gorgeous and the location is great as well.

It was my first experience with B&B (before I always stays in hotels) and I can tell it was very nice. B&B Gabriel was always clean fresh food, milk....WiFi.very close to beach and sights

Not suitable for families. Noisy all nights, and you can't close the window becose there is no air condition. the rooms are in 3th floor without elavator. Location was changed without a notice. Rude behaviour (especially regarding money transfers).

A perfect place to stay in Barcelona!

The first room was very noisy and my friends (who cannot sleep with ear plugs) did not close the eye. Gabriel very friendly changed us room and she were very well able to sleep. I had no problems with the noise.

We were lucky as all bookings were mixed up due to the flight disruptions and we got a room upgraded. Well, maybe for the noise it was not good but with earplugs it was possible to sleep. The hotel is in perfect location, we just used public transport on 2 out of 5 days! There are plenty of bars and restaurants close. One of our favourite was Andu, a really nice wine bar! We saw the guy running the B&B just on the first day but he was very helpful. The common areas are clean, the breakfast limited but we did not mind so much - you can buy something on the way! Overall a perfect stay and we would definitely come back!

We loved Gabrial! And his daughter. They were very nice to us. The bathrooms were very clean. Our 1st time in Barcelona was a good experience and cheap. Great location too.

We have been in Carrer ample 24. The new B&B is very nice and the building is fantastic. The rapport quality price is excelent. In each apartament there is Kitchen living room internet point 1 big bathroom and other one smal bathroom. The room in the street is a litle bit noising in the night but we already know before to arriving because gabriel has been corect. Perfect value money quality.

Perfect location in a lovely old town atmosphere, near to everything. Really nice people running the place and and it was clean too.

We had an enjoyable stay at B&B Garbriel. Travelling with 2 small children, Gabriel gave us 2 rooms (sleeping room and sitting room), which was great! The place is basic, but we knew that coming in. We had plenty of room and the kichen/laundry access was great. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The area around the B&B isn't the nicest, and it was loud at night. The only thing that was truly disappointing was the centerpiece of the table filled with condoms. We were glad that our children are young enough that they couldn't see. Perhaps they could be put in a more discreet location. Overall, we had a great experience and would reccomend it for those looking for a budget option.

Really nice place. Near beach, just what we wanted. No photo on web. Try it anyway - you will not be disappointed.

Nice and clean, very central, quiet compared to location. Must be young or in good health to walk stairs. there are a lot and no lift. Building is very old, so do not let the outside and stairway scare you away. The apartment is nice and spacious

We wanted to visit the old town.In general, we haven"t problems, but the rooms aren"t so good soundproofed in the location.

Our room was very quiet, because it didn't have a street facing window, and or stay was very pleasant. we stayed for 4 nights and it was great. too bad the room didn't have a tv for when it rained, but it was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The bath is big and clean and with all the facilities included. Gabriel is a great guy, very friendly and helpful. The place is in the center of Barcelona, 3 minute walk to La rambla and 10-15 min walk to the beach. Really liked it and I would return gladly.

Very centrally located and right next to the metro. Had all the facilities like laundry, fully functional kitchen with all the basic amenities like milk, cereal, bread, butter, yogurt etc The manager is very helpful and extreamly knowledgable about the touristy stuff to do. The grocery store downstairs has very friendly and helpful vendors.

It was the most welcoming place I had ever been before.We had great fan and relaxing time. This hotel afforded me to feel Barselona all my soul. Great thanks. PS/Close to the hotel are few exellent restaurants- my recommendation))))We'll back without fail! Ann, Andrew & German

Excellent value for money in an expensive city. Particularly good if there are 3 or 4 people sharing a room. Great location. Wouldn't recommend as a place to stay for couples wanting a romantic getaway as the walls are very thin(!)and the rooms are directly off the communal area, but if you're on a budget and want to be in a central location this is The Place. The owner, Gabriel, is very welcoming and has lots of advice and information on the city.

Bed and Breakfast Gabriel was exactley what we wanted which was cheap, clean accomodation in Barcelona. We stopped in an apartment which was within a minutes walk from the sea. The apartment was very clean, food for breakfast was there when we arrived and Gabriel was in contact to see if more was required. The rooms were very quiet as was the surrounding area as its in a residential block. If you are wanting 5 star accomodation then look elsewhere, if you are wanting a great location then this is for you. We will be returning im sure.

Posizione ottima, centrale, metro a pochi passi,in prossimità della rambla per questo più adatta a single, gruppi e giovani coppie. Pulizia non proprio soddisfacente.

Davvero molto bello e funzionale, un'ottima soluzione per godersi Barcellona e per poterla visitare senza difficoltà.Gabriel è molto disponibile e scegliendo il suo B&B è come se avessimo avuto la sensazione di abitare a Barcellona per tre giorni, tutto a nostra completa disposizione. Ci torneremo sicuramente.

The entrance, stairs etc look poor, but as soon as you are in the appartment everything is forgotten, as the rooms are beautiful, good beds, perfect bathroom. Use of kitchen and laptop with free internet, was very convenient. Service from Tony the housekeeper was excellent and friendly. We felt at home and we would certainly stay here again. Excellent value for money.

Wery cosy place,creative decoration.I could have stayed there much longer.Loved the nice kitchen.Walk out the door and you are in the narrow streets in the back of La Rambla.Very convinient.

The hostel would not pass an inspection. There was no breakfast available and both the room and common areas we not very clean. We had no privacy and we could not lock our room. The best about the hostel is the location.
