Hotel was OK but I have 2 remarks: 1) the rooms are not sufficiently acousticaly insulated. We even heared our neighbours speaking low and breathing... 2) the price is too high. A double room of this quality without breakfast should be paid 70€ and not 90€.

There is one problem with this place...noise. I dont normally complain but let me list the sources of noise: 1. Paper thin walls, you hear everything from the other rooms. This includes the drain making loud noises when another room uses their sink. 2. Garbage collection out the front. 3. Bus waiting point out the front. 4. Above is a taekwondo gym and you hear banging all day long from the ceiling. The people are nice and the place looks nice, but the noise is too much to handle that we actually had to buy earplugs. If it was refundable I would have moved to another hotel.

This is the first time I went to Barcelona, I received message from Fason House after reservation, it gave me detail instruction from Airport to, it's very helpful. The location is really good, easy to go to hop-on and hop-off bus and in walkable distance to most of the attractions. The staffs are good in English and willing to give help for all requests.

Very nice and accommodating hosts, great location and blissfully quiet. Only complaint is value for money-small things, but given rate, would expect to have soap and shampoo in shower. A small thing but inconvenient and not expected given the price. Television never worked, also not a big thing but would have appreciated it working.

This was a real find. Although designated as a hostal this was a lot nicer than many hotels I have stayed in. The location is great. Close enough to walk to the Gothic quarter, Ramblas and Gaudi houses but in a very quiet area. It took us only a few minutes to walk there from Placa de Cataluyna where the airport bus stops. There are no signs identifying that it is a Hostal on the outside of the building but we had no problem finding it as we followed their instructions! We had a double room with "terrace".This meant we had a window which opened onto the delightful terrace at the back of the building. Our room was large and comfortable. The bathroom opposite our room was clean and modern. Sharing was not a problem as there is one bathroom to two bedrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good english. There is no one there after about 2.30 pm but this wasn't a problem. Arrangements were made for someone to be there early evening to greet us and we were able to leave our luggage on the last day. We were also told that we could phone at any time if there was a problem. In good weather breakfast is served on the terrace. We only took breakfast one day as it was 6 euro extra and we opted for coffee and croisant at the cafe opposite. The only minor downside about the area is that it is quiet at night. We only discovered Casa Alphonso, a late opening restaurant and bar on the next road (Carrer de Roger de Luna)on our last night. A bit expensive for a meal but good for a drink and late night snack. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fashion House and if we go back to Barcelona would definitely stay here again.

We had a really nice 'decorator' room with pretty bed linens, wood floors and a kitchen/sitting area/balcony which looked out onto the balconies of other buildings. It was near the metro and a 24 hr market for snacks. Happy, friendly staff-english speaking.

Breafast should have been included in the price, and we were a bit disapointed by the quality of the breakfast (for 6 euros per personn...it was expensive for what we had) In addition, the room was really noisy : we could hear everything happening in the next room, and in the corridor.. But the fashion house is really near from the plaza catalunya, that was great !!!

Stayed with my son for Grand Prix Weekend. Twin room with bathroom opposite. Owners / staff really friendly and helpful, rooms clean and spacious. A little noisy but what do you expect on a weekend break in Barcelona! Easy to find and very good location with Metro & buses at the street corner. Reccommend as long as you're happy to find places to eat out. We had a great time and would return.

really friendly! perfect people gave us really nice indications on how to see the whole city!! so kind the owner waited for us until late and got us from the local metro stop. gave us maps and information of the whole city! the rooms were really clean also the bathrooms but spending 90 euros a night seems much for communal bathroom, the breakfast was not something interesting. also i need to sat that the rooms were really quiet, the view was nice with a balcony. in two words it was a really clean quiet house, i would say that has nothing to do with common hostals, has a very kind and helpful owner and was just in the middle of the city, important is that it is 5 mins walking from the last stop pf the bust from the airport. the price is hight but generaly is the best hostal you can have, if the room had a personal bathroom i could consider it as a nice hotel room. i will rebook it as soon as i find a nice flight to Barcelona... ;)

Hard to find as there was just a tiny notice by a large door along with lots of other names. You must emphasise the number of the house as this is the only way to find it. The hotel was very nice, a warm welcome from very helpful staff, good breakfast with plenty of choice served in the communal room and an excellent and very clean bathroom.

Lovely hostel! Private sink in the room and the shared bath rooms are clean and nice. A bit noisy in the night when our neighbours used their sink.. The hostal has a big sunny terrace. The location is perfect. Quiet and central. You feel welcome here. I will go for this place when I return to Barcelona!

Although its location couldn’t even be better (it is located close to Plaça Catalunya, the central hub for most tourist buses and the like), Fashion House is, otherwise, not the ideal place to stay in Barcelona. Although the host, Mariana, and her fellow receptionists are quite kind and helpful, this doesn’t compensate for the fact that Fashion House’s reception closes after 2:30 PM. The sole fact that nobody is there for help after the specified time is frightening, as it’s quite easy to get into a situation in which you find yourself in a state of helplessness (such as we did in our Madrid hostel, where we got stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes). Without a receptionist or anyone else at the hostel, such predicaments can’t be solved or catered to at all. Aside from this, the suite rooms, although beautiful, are marked by a putrid smoke-like odor. In addition, upon entering your room, the hosts at the hostel give you an insanely large number of keys for numerous doors. Opening these doors became confusing and time-consuming for us. Also, the hostel seeks to conserve energy by activating the lights through a key given to each family in their room. Although the idea is considerate to the environment, the result is a bit grating, as the light often goes off while one is in the shower or in another idle state while in the bathroom. Finally, the mattresses in the rooms are incredibly noisy, mostly due to their worn-out springs. Overall, though the hostel isn’t without its charms, you’re better off staying somewhere with a reception that’s more reliable and is on the premise at all times. VENERE must include this fact on their listing.

Matig ontbijt. Prijs te hoog voor deze voorziening.

We arrived late as per our advice to the hotel and were welcomed in a warm and friendly manner. The room was outstanding with high ceilings and a lot of character. The breakfasts provided by Mariana were very good, had good value for the cost and were served on a very appealing patio. One of the best small hotels we stayed at during our three weeks in Spain and France.

Genial!!

Mariana welcomed us at the door. On our first trip to Barcelona & Spain the service offered was excellent. Very close to the attractions/shopping/transport yet far enough away to escape the hustle & bustle. The only fault was noise in the room (next door too loud) and airconditioner not working fully in summer. We would return.

I stayed in Studio A at Fashion House with 2 friends in May. On arrival, we were greeted by Adamo who was very helpful. He gave us a map with suggestions of places to visit, and got us settled in the room quickly. The room was clean, airy and spacious enough for 3 people (with 3 single beds), with an attached private bathroom. There was also a small kitchen and dining area which was very useful during our stay. Adamo even directed us to the supermarket which is just outside the building. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily, and fresh towels are provided every 3 days. The room was also air-conditioned (which really helped in the Barcelona heat), and the area felt safe. We could occasionally hear the people in the next apartment, but this was not disruptive at all. The motion sensor lights and energy efficient shower in the bathroom took some getting used to (you have to press the shower tap every so often to keep the water running), but once we figured that out, we were fine. The common room and terrace on the main floor were also nice, although we didn't have too much time to use them. The apartment was close to Placa Catalunya, so we were able to walk everywhere. Compared to other accomodations in the Place Catalunya area, Fashion House was reasonably priced. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Fashion House, and would definitely stay here again.

Interesting, upscale older building. Our room was very large w/ elegantly decorated high ceilings. Pretty courtyard below for breakfast. Our room was on 3rd floor---w/ small 2 person elevator (one of which was not me---claustrophobia!) Room was very noisy when any other guests were in residence. Very good location for walking or using public transportation. The managers were very pleasant and helpful. Overall, we liked it.

The staff was wonderful; upon our arrival they went over where we were on a free map they provided, and pinpointed all the must see Barcelona tourist sites, as well as useful tips regarding times. The location was perfect-a great quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from the ramblas, and with a metro stop at the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and it has great bread and breakfast charm. After 4 days and 3 nights we felt like we were coming home. The patio where breakfast is served is very cute, and a wonderful way to start the day. I would definitely stay here again. We loved it.

What a great find! We had a fantastic welcome from Guiseppe, who made us really welcome and gave us loads of information and local knowledge. Very convenient location, can walk everywhere, plus there's a Metro station less than 30 seconds away. The place is beautifully decorated and the rooms are very tasteful and spotlessly clean. We had one of the cheaper rooms - sharing a bathroom is absolutely fine, they were always clean and we never had to wait for one to come free (in fact, we barely saw anyone else!). We were on the street side of the building, which was a bit noisy at night from traffic and street cleaners. So if you're a light sleeper and are not planning on staying out all night, bring ear plugs. The back rooms are quieter. All in all, we really loved Fashion House and would definitely go back.

This hotel felt just like home, when we arrived it was late, they made sure to have someone there for us. I don't remember his name but he sat down with us gave us a map of the city told us places to go and not go. Even went as far as making dinner reservations for us. the hotel itself was awesome!!! Even though we shared a bathroom it never was a problem. And they even did our laundry for 5 euros a bag!! The service was 5 diamond all the way around. Fashion House was wonderful. Adamo made us really welcome. He sat us down on the lovely terrace, gave us fruit juice and maps (all free of charge) and took the time to show us all the places of interest in Barcelona. The location is excellent – only a five-minute walk from La Rambla but, unlike that street, really quiet. There is also a metro station literally about 100m away. The building that the hotel is in was built in the 19th century and is beautiful. The design throughout is understated and stylish. It was very clean – and I loved the motion-activated lights! All in all, it was fantastic, and I wouldn’t hesitate either to return or to recommend it.

For the room with 3 bed that i have ordered, we found out that the room has 1x double bed and 1x single bed. it would be better if the website states clearly that it does not have 3 beds separately. otherwise, fashion house is very clean hostel with helpful staff. if you have 3 person, it is better to take taxi (~23 euro all included) as airbus is always full with long queue.

Consigliato! A tutti!

For the price we paid we were not expecting much. But the Fashion was a lovely surprise. We arrived outside the reception hours and were greeted warmly. The room was much bigger than standard size with really high ceilings and even had a balcony. We opted for a shared bathroom and there were 2 directly opposite the room, spotless also. The location is in a nice neighbourhood and about 3-4 blocks from the main Las Ramblas area. I would highly recommend this hostal/hotel and would definitly stay there on my next visit to Barcelona.

Our stay at the Fashion house was wonderful. The owners were so welcoming and helpful prepared to answer any questions we had and to give lots of information on local sights and transport. The hotel was extremely clean and the communal bathrooms immaculate as were the rooms. We stayed in a room with shared bathroom (although there was a sink in the room) and this was fine as the bathroom was close by and shared with only one other. The room was spacious with a balcony and was light and airy. I would certainly recommend any one staying here as it was friendly, clean and close to all local attractions (5min walk from the ramblas).

This is a nice clean hotel in a good central location. Good value for money. Adamo and Giuseppe made us very welcome. Good advice on getting Aerobus from the airport for 3.60 euros. Breakfast good value for 5 euros but we were disappointed that our suite with private bathroom was on the third floor and we were not given a key for access to the garden or lounge on the first floor where most rooms are located. We liked having a room at the back which we had requested as it was fairly quiet with no street noise. Just a warning about restaurant recommendations - this is a very personal choice and we were recommended a very nice (and expensive) restaurant a bus ride out of town but unfortunately everyone was smoking which we dislike when trying to enjoy the taste of our food. There was no provision for a non smoking area, unlike the places we found ourselves in town.

Guiseppe, the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The room to the front with a balcony was spacious and clean, but as to expect in the city not too quiet. All rooms are on the first floor with some studios on the 2nd floor. Breakfast is either served on the terrace to the rear or in the common room at one big table for everybody. Breakfast is not very exciting, but it gets you going for a while. The bathrooms in the hall are very clean and hardly ever occupied when you need them. Just a small drawback, the towels were not of great quality, could have been thicker and better washed, they did not dry very well and when we asked for a new one the quality was the same, but the towels were smaller. So bring your own towels and you will have a very pleasant stay!

Ne especially not to take small the dejeuner.C' is a shame to call small a dejeuner when it is been useful with crescents under plastic for 5 euros per anybody. We had a large probmème noise the night bus of the drunk customers did many bruit.bien heard in this type of hotel it does not have there a night watchman thus impossible to regulate the problème.Donc us almost did not sleep. Us were changed room for a studio which was very dirty and felt the cold tobacco even by opening all the fenêtres.l' hotel is in a calm and pleasant district. IT is pretty but I strongly disadvise it bus quite simply the managers are not serious and immediately noted we it by the behavior and the hypocritical discussion of the managers,la held of the hotel and the breakfast the morning. all is joined together so that the place is really pleasant with the proviso of having serious people with the head of this beautif

We just returned from Barcelona and stayed at "Fashion House". This House is close to the Ramblas and Placa Catalunja (walking 7 minutes) and has a direct access to the underground, which makes it the ideal starting place for sightseeing. The welcome was great. The receptionist took about 30 minutes to show us the special places of Barcelona in a map. He told us the places to visit and recommended some good restaurants. We would stay in "Fashion House" again.

From the time we arrived till the time we left, the service was Excellent! Giuseppe (forgive me if it's mispelled) was very accomodating and helpful. The great customer service made us forget about being pickpocketed upon our arrival into the city!

The room was astonishingly nice and well decorated, the shared bathrooms perfectly clean. The walls were slighlty to thin, so that we could hear our neighbours, but they were civilised enough to be quiet so it wasn't a problem. The welcoming was absolutely charming, our host having provided us on arrival with a map and a lot of useful information on the sightseeing options. Last but not least, the location is very central, in a nice, quiet area. We could walk nearly everywhere from there. Meanwhile, the tube is just outside the building in case of need.

very nice room, very warm and friendly reception, ideal location for someone who prefers to stay at place with more "private" atmosphere; the only negative remark is that the shared bathrooms were somehow always busy when we needed them...Murphys law. But even though they were always spotless clean!

I can not say enough good things about Fashion House. We absolutely had a wonderful experience with them. The establishment is a recently renovated old building that has truly been restored to it's former beauty. Our hosts, Giuseppe and Adamo, went above and beyond all of expectiations both upon our arrival and even before. Giuseppe corresponded with me several times prior to our trip and volunteered info and recommendations on regional airlines, etc to assist me in finalizing our travel plans. They are very centrally located with Placa Catalunya located close by and a Metro stop virtually located out their front door (ok, just down the street a bit), but they are on a quite sidestreet that provided a much needed haven from the bustle and crowds of the city. (We were there over a MAJOR holiday..St Jordi's..and were glad that we were not staying along La Rambla which was our initial thoughts!) If you are looking for an immaculate and welcoming environment where you feel like you're visting a private home of old friends, I highly recommend staying here.

Fashion house was centrally located, and an easy walk from the second-to-last train stop. There is an elevator, and the staff person who greeted us spoke excellent english. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean, and the facilities are excellent. A continental breakfast is available at the additional cost of 5 euros each, delivered to your bedroom. The neighborhood is safe, and it was an easy walk to the Playa de Catalunya, the central plaza. There were some noise problems from an adjoining bathroom, but nothing too loud. We enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay here again when we return to Barcelona.

Fashion House was excellently located - next to a metro station and a 5minute walk from Plaza Catalunya. The hosts, Giuseppe and Adamo were wonderfully welcoming and the rooms were quiet and spacious. My friend Barbara and I stayed at Fashion House for 2 nights 27thFeb - 1st March 2005 we usually stay off Ramblas but find it difficult when going home lugging suitcase up Ramblas to bus station, trying to avoid crowds walking in many directions, Fashion House was only 5 mins walk from the bus stop and not as many crowds it was well situated, metro outside, our hosts Pedro and Adamus were very helpful and friendly We usually stay in a hotel with pivate bathroom Fashio House having communal bathroom but we can honestly say that the bathroom/toilet were spotless, the only down side was it SNOWED [that couldnt be helped and when we booked we were under the impression that breakfast was inclued but was extra at 5 Euros. We would stay there again.

Small sign above a doorbell, so make sure you find the street numbers and look for No.13. We had an inside double room that was beautiful and suffered no street noise. You could however hear other guests, so that could be difficult if they were noisy. Otherwise than that I cannot fault the reception and care we received and I recommend this hostal to all.

Nice people, a large room very clean, well situated, near the gothic quarter and the Ramblas, in a calm neighbourhood Two restrictions : - the breakfast could be better (only industrial food nothing fresh or home made) - we have to share the bathroom, no shampoo, the price is perhaps a little high in those conditions. However, a good adress.

Our hosts were so gracious and helpful. We had the two room suite which was on the inside. We had our own patio and it was so lovely. The rooms on the street were noisy but there are two rooms inside that are not noisy so request those. We had a hard time finding because we didn't realize you must RING THE DOORBELL on the street. There is no sign like we Americans are acustomed to seeing. The location is blocks from the central plaza and the la rambla which made getting around easy. I

Excellent place to stay - clean, welcoming, friendly, nice and new - but you might want to ask for a room on the patio side - as the rubbish collectors outside do their job all night and don't care that you might want to sleep!
