Casa con Estilo - Guest House - Barcelona

The room was very nice and the breakfast room was wonderful. A nice place to read a book. At night there was some noise outside at street level. Garbage trucks, motorcycles, etc. the noise echos amoungst the buildings which is something I may have to get used to if I return to Barcelona.

Staff doesn't speak English, but they're super friendly. We communicated via Google translator for basics.

The hotel is not well sign-posted. We passed it first time and there was nothing in the hallway to tell us how to get to the hotel on the 6th floor. We were lucky that there happened to be someone in the dark hallway at the time we arrived. The lift is tiny and old-fashioned. The B&B itself is charming and very clean. It was lovely and quiet most of the time. The breakfast was very good and the main reason for choosing this hotel in the first place. I would highly reccommend the restaurant across the road, The Hidalgo. Their patatas bravas are the best I've ever tasted. Unfortunately using the metro to get there was not as straightforward as I'd thought it would be as there is work going on on Line 7 at the moment. There were no restaurants open on Sunday night when we arrived so we had to resort to the nearby supermarket which is very good and a life saver as I was very hungry. The lack of English (global language) was a drawback.

we where really pleased with our stay at casa con estilo,even though there was a mix up with the time we arrived, but the lady we talked to was most helpful, room clean, staff pleasant , we loved having the terrace , food good, lovely place to stay , it was our first visit to barcelona, & this B& B IS close to bus/taxi/tube, plenty of nice places to eat, really in joyed our stay ,planing to visit Casa Con Estilo again, :) JANE BYRNE

It was one of the most unusual hotel rooms we have ever stayed in (the one with the fireplace and the "library". It was a pleasant surprise for us. It was very convenient and I felt like home there. A shared bathroom was not a problem. We were traveling with the 4 y.o. child, so we were happy to have extra sofas and a mini-kitchen. We really enjoyed the style. When we go to Barcelona next time, I would love to stay in Casa Con Estilo is the same room.

Very pleasant, quiet and secure. Restful roof terrace with plants, tables and awning. Excellent breakfast served until late morning. Wifi worked even in my room (was near the breakfast room though). Hotel provided useful information leaflets about transport and nearby restaurants on checkin. Late night arrival not a problem. Large -shared- bathroom with big shower. L7 metro station El Putxet almost outside the door.

The bed room "Karen" et "Lorca"are very very good and quiet The staff is very obliging. The surroundings are quiet and pleasant.

6 Day stay in beautiful Barcelona made very convenient by staying @ Residence Casa Con Estilo. Great location just 5 metro stops from the center of the city ( PL. Catalyuna). Safe neighborhood with some good restaurants. Hotel is 2 floors of a early 20th Century building. Beautiful views of the neighborhood, elegant dinning room for sitting and breakfast, computer area, quiet. Spanish speaking staff on premises. Only drawback, narrow old elevator was out of service a few days and six flights of stairs can be difficult, especially with suitcases or packages. Would stay again.

A pleasant place with a lovely atmosphere and well locatedclose to a metro station, 10 minutes out from Plaza Catalunya. The roof terrace is fantastic on a sunny day and the breakfast was delightful (lots of fruit and a freshly baked cake very day). It would, however, have been nice if there was a mirror in the room (I was on a shopping holiday!)

This city is expensive and one can easily pay 80-90 euros for a dive. This hotel is in an elegant townhouse, as the pictures show. We loved the audrey room-- found it quite romantic and the bathroom very spacious by European standards. Everything was clean though the built-in armoire had a bit of "old house" smell-- just old wood-- not rot or mothballs or anything. The noise outside the window might bother some but we were on the 5th (?) floor or so, so we slept soundly. The neighborhood is not quite what I expected-- somewhere I read it was "posh" but that's not in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. However, it's a 1 minute walk to the metro stop and if you choose to go down to Las Ramblas on foot, it is only about 30-40 minutes (and an interesting walk if you like checking out normal-type shops). The breakfast room and patio are extremely elegant. The staff is kind and professional. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat. A great value-- very elegant public areas, though the bedrooms are chic and funky.

Beautiful "old Europe" apartment in the north section of Barcelona, conveniently located next to the metro stop. It was a bit tricky to locate at first. There's a small sign on the building and you must then take the antique elevator to the top floor. But once you know where it is, and have a set of keys, this place is a gem. It appears to have once been a family residence years ago, nicely furnished and beatiful detailing of inside. Our room was a bit small, but this being Barcelona, hanging out in your room would be a serious waste of time. I look forward to returning to Casa Con Estilo. Barcelona is an amazing city. Patrick
