Italy, Aug 2009
It's a nice B&B in a large and elegant house. My family (2+2) was well displaced in a quite building just few steps away from the main house. We were in a confortable room joined by a steep staircase with a small loft; there was a kitchen too, although we did not need it. In the morning we had rich breakfast in the patio in front of the wide garden almost with everything you wish, including home-made jams by the exquisit hostess. The place is not too far walking from the center of Avignon, but in the evening is better to take the car. From Avignon is confortable to reach many places in Provence. I have some doubts about the town, the center is very touristic, hot and crowded in August, many vagabonds too. A suggestion: in the evening consider Villenouve, a pleasent little town just across the river Rhone, where to have dinner in characteristic restaurants .

I was travelling with my partner and the stay in Avignon was part of our tour of Provence, although we also went to Corsica. The guest house was charming and the welcome warm and genuine. We were offered a choice of room and chose the slightly smaller one overlooking the garden, which had an enormous bathroom. Everything was spotless and the bed very comfortable. We were given maps and directions as well as recommendations for dinner in Avignon, which were excellent. Breakfast was very good, if a little cramped, but unfortunately because of the Mistral, we were unable to sit outside on the lovely terrace. Quality of food was outstanding. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it unreservedly to anyone who wanted a quiet place to stay, but which was within 15 minutes walk of the centre of Avignon. It wasn't the cheapest place we have stayed in, but we considered it definitely worth the extra.

The accomodation was very nice.Quiet place, close to the old town center with nice garden for fine breakfest and with own safe parking place. We were very satisfied!

The facility was lovely and Marie-Dominique, our hostess, charming. It was spotlessly clean and well-located though a somewhat long walk from the old city walls. The breakfast was very nice with homemade jams, and one evening Marie-Dominique made an excellent dinner for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not for the handicapped however, as the rooms are located up a winding open stairway.

An excellent host, Villa Colmas is defintely one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. We booked two twins but one room is significantly more spacious than the other, though both are very good though. Within walking distance (10 minutes) to the centre/railway station. A quiet but safe neighbourhood. Will definitely return if I go to Avignon again.

We stayed only one day, but the impression was very good.

A wonderful spot in a delightful location. Our hosts were friendly and charming without being the least bit intrusive. The room was the nicest that we saw during our trip with a spacious bedroom that opened onto the villa's gardens and an en suite bath that was both airy and sexy.

We loved the Villa Colmas. Our host, Mr. Colmas was very helpful and accomodating. His home is spacious and beautifully decorated. The backyard garden is lovely and it was nice to eat breakfast on the patio. This place is surrounded by it's own wall. You can't tell from the outside but it is a lovely oasis. A short walk to Avignon and restaurants. Free internet access for checking e-mail made it perfect.
