Bed and Breakfast Antiche Mura - Arezzo

A wonderful hotel, beautifully converted from an antiqure building. An extremely warm welcome from the proprietress, who was genuinely kind and helpful through my stay. Perfect location in scenic Arezzo - unreservedly recommended.

Arezzo is very old and the hotel fits with the feel though up to date everything. Staff was helpful though not all spoke English well. Breakfast is in cafe and when the cafe forgot to tell them they were closing, I was refunded for one breakfast. The rooms come with literary names and copies of the books (in Italian). I was in Emma. It is at the top of the hill so hiking from the train with heavy luggage would be a problem. There are taxis available.

This is a lovely B & B. The proprietor and his family (wife, son, daughter) were absolutely wonderful. The major problem was the difficulty getting to the hotel by car, as the area has restrictions and our GPS had difficulty getting us there. (A man we stopped and asked for directions guided us there.) This spot is not for those who cannot climb - to get anywhere for food, there were very steep hills. Still, the kindness of the staff and the kindness of the people at the bar where breakfast was provided cannot go unmentioned.
