Sphinx Hotel - Amsterdam

Room is ok, but blanket has strange stains on it. Staff is helpful but at times not welcoming or friendly at all. Price is too expensive while room is small, not including bathroom and shower, no cleaning service, and location not near to town. Breakfast is very simple. However the free wifi was of good quality. Yet overall, I would not come back.

The hotel Sphinx is not worth more than 50€ per night ! Have you ever been there yourself, I doubt it !!

Very small bedroom, the floor in the bedroom was very dirty, poor breakfast, didnt have internet, only 1 bathroom to 4 bedroom.

Everything about this hotel was not as was advertised on the net.It is nothing more than a backpackers hostel and a bad one at that.It is not the cheapest in Amsterdam either but should be for what you get.I have travelled the world all my life and this is one of the worst places I have stayed.I can only comment on the double room which is basically a cellar filled with a double bed.It is not the same as in the photo,every footstep can be heard from above,people entering/exiting adjacent rooms,totally misinforming front desk staff,no credit cards only cash and upfront(no wonder),breakfast???your kidding me.At least they could get some more toasters and ones that work!The list goes on but I cant be bothered.Stay at your own risk!!!

We booked a room for 4 people with a private bathroom. However, we were placed in 2 double rooms without bathroom. The receptionist told us that the bathroom was outside our rooms and it was dedicated to us, but it wasn't... The house cleanliness was very poor. I don't recommend this hotel.

A very basic hotel but the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, what let it down was the fact I was put in a room on the ground floor and as such was disturbed every time some one came in the front door and then in the morning the noise from the breakfast room also disturbed me.

This hotel is absolutely unakzeptabel for this price, we paid 95 euro for a room with separate beds and to dirty showers and a get mouldy shower curtain. checkin was checkout around 3.pm and 11.am (for what they need 4 hours? ton clean the room? can´t believe this)) further this had to be already paid with the arrival. In the house was it very loud and dirty altogether. I do not think a 1 star hotel must be dirty. That the equipment is simple understands I, but does not go dirty at all. I get today still Herpes if I to think.
