Bed and Breakfast Camere con vista - Amalfi

This place has great view and location, the apartment is big - with nice kitchenette, living room, bed room and a shower. Two lovely balconies with view to the sea and the Amalfi - bay. There are a lot of stairs from the street to the apartment, and it is quite difficult if you are not in good shape to take the bags over the stairs. There is no parking and the car is taken by a driver to a distant parking lot, it takes about 20-30 minutes to bring back the car. What we weren't told is that the parking service costs 18 Euros (!!!) per night and it made the overall price much more than we expected. Overall it is recommended if you have a solution for the car.

It was wonderful. It was just what we wanted though we didn't know it! We had thought it was an actual hotel and we were led to believe from our booking that breakfast was served to our room, which was one of the reasons we booked. But the snack bar which provided breakfast let my husband bring it back to the room and so we were relatively satisfied. This became a minor detail in the long run as the rest of the experience was superb. Next time, I would request a room not next to the entry door although our balcony would be hard to trade. It was the balcony that made the room for us. The view is spectacular. And we loved being in the heart of the town. Don't stay here if you're expecting to be waited on hand and foot or to sit around watching T.V. It allows you to be independent, though not w/a kitchen. We loved having a hot water pot and made coffee (instant) every morning and stored cheese and meat in the mini fridge to make sandwhiches on our long hikes. And then drank wine and played cards in the evenings watching the stars come out. It should be noted that we were there at the end of the low season, the crowds were just starting to arrive towards the end of our visit.

Great location, very close to bus station. The manager is super nice and helpful. Picked us up from the bus station to ensure that we can get to the hotel easily. Provided all the info we need.

A nice, clean , quiet hotel, with a very picturesque view and competent staff.Different kinds of clientele, both for young and old people, the prices are moderate, a very convenient position, one-minute walk from the sea.I met one family from the US, some Italians...

Quite simply the best two nights in Amalfi. The room was very clean and very comfortable and the view from the balcony was amazing. The cost for such a lovely room and view was very reasonable and I would highly recommend it. We are hoping to go back next spring and would love to stay at the same place again. The steps up to the property might make it not so suitable for a person with restricted mobility or young children and you have to walk in the road for a few yards to reach the entrance but not a problem if you pay attention.

I felt greatly mislead about this hotel. Its location is a view looking the opposite way, really. James was bored with his job and not genuinely helpful. The tunnel to get the hotel is dangerous, toxic from the fumes of the buses and very very VERY difficult to manage with luggage. I loved being near the coast and the town and would recommend for the view, not the B&B "experience"...breakfast served at the cafe by Marco was the best part of the trip. We couldnt sleep because of chairs being dragged ALL the time across the floors above.

All in all, a wonderful stay. James is very helpfull, the view is fantastic, the location is perfect. If you are looking for luxury then this is not for you. If you are looking for a clean, efficient, conveniant to all amenities type of place then this is ideal. Alot of stairs so would not recommend for anyone who has any concerns from that point of view but to any couple/family looking for an apartment then it's ideal. Breakfast is very basic so didn't bother too much. Wouldn't bother with recommended restaraunts either although the one exception would be a restaraunt that James mentions in a small piazza. Good food at tourist prices. Amalfi a great base to explore the Amalfi coast. Can get anywhere using public transport so would not bother renting a car. Also..apartments have pretty much everything for eating in if you so desire. Overall would recomend highly!!

We found the location to be excellent but without being escorted there by James on arrival would have had difficulty locating the premises. We were three in number would would have liked to have had a balcony. James proved himself to be an excellent host, helping us with any problem, on one occasion not even related to our stay in Amalfi.We found having our breakfast(included)at a restaurant in a nearby piazza to be novel and unexpected.

We stayed for 3 nights. Service by the Manager, James, was excellent. We were contacted personally on the day of arrival and given every assistance. I would not recommend this property to mature travellers or travellers with young children as there are lots of stairs.

The views from the camere are spectacular, it is really just a few steps from downtown and people are very nice and willing to help

When we finally found the green door, the rest was perfect! James was very helpful and the breakfast venue was special too. The view from the room is worth going again.

There is no reception desk or lobby, just a locked green door. You need to telephone ahead to have someone direct you to the difficult to find location and give you the key. No elevator or services. Terrific location overlooking the bay and good value for the money.

Overlooking the main plaza in Amalfi so the location is excellent. We loved it! Excellent quality window so not noisy when closed (for sleeping). Spacious room was very clean and had a fridge. Private bathroom. You even get your own "object de art" (a vase). James was very knowlegable/helpful. Gave us some free intenet at his shop. Only downside was parking in Amalfi is very tight so we had to pay 15 euro/day for parking.
