Hotel Reviews Wien (Austria Classic Hotels)

This hotel is an ideal place for those, who are visiting Vienna for the first time. The location of the hotel allowes you to visit all the main attractions of the city. The undeground station is situated in a 3 - minute walk from the hotel. My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay in this place. The ONLY disadvantage of the hotel is that if your waist girth is more tha 1 meter, you`ll feel cramped in the shower.

Standard hotel, good value for price (we paid 60 euros). Large rooms. Not very close to the center, about 20 minutes walking, but beside a metro station. Good breakfast.

This is an excellent place to use as a base while visiting Vienna. It's not in the old center of the city but Vienna's public transport is so excellent that this is absolutely not a problem. It's just a couple minutes walk from 2 different subway stops. It's a short walk to the Prater, which is a lovely, large park. My room was small, similar to many other European hotels I've used, but clean, well kept and very comfortable. I was there for a conference held at the Messe Wien Congress Center; it took me 8 minutes to get there and I was paying less than 1/4 the price as the people staying at one of the official congress hotels.

The hotel gives me the impression of trying (hard) to simulate a classic austrian style; you can observe this immediately when entering the elevator. But the spaces in my room didn't seem to me quite Central European. The front desk is friendly and collaborative; one of the main advantages of the hotel is that it is at a 5 minutes walk from The Prater and from a train-metro station.

The hotel is nicely located on a major street and very close to a metro station. We had a room facing the big street, so it was quite noisy during the night (had to leave the window open because there was no air-condition). The hotel although was clean, but it's very old and the room had very little space. Breakfast was not included in the price, and they charge $12Euro per person/per breakfast. Out of the three hotels that we have stayed in Vienna, this isn't on the top of my list. I strongly recommend SuiteHome Hotel. It costs more, but definitely worth the price.

Good location - close to underground and plenty of restaurants, cafes and a supermarket in the area; suited us for two days of sightseeing in Vienna.

With venere.com we had a bonus of 4% so we only paid 67 euros per night. Which is very good for the city. We asked for a quiet room and we had it, with a view to the car park. The room was quite small but this is enough if we only need to sleep in it. Internet access if free on one computer. Employees speak a very good english, are very kind and ready to help at any time. Close to a mini-market, a japanese restaurant, the subway and the center of town, the highway, this is a very nice hotel for tourists.

We would certainly stay again at the charming and well-renovated Austria Classic Hotel even though we have stayed elsewhere in the past. The Hotel is located close to the main centre and the two Underground stations within a 150 metres making travelling to the centre very easy especially with a with a One or Three Day Vienna Ticken. One station has a direct link to the Airport on the S line. Very friendly and efficient staff are genuinely keen to assist. Breakfasts are hearty and are taken in leisure. The extremely extensive Prater Park which contains the Giant Ferris Wheel is nearby as is the Danube Canal. There are numerable restaurants in the surrounding streets with good food at reasonable prices. A very good value Hotel.

This was my second stay at this hotel. I like the location, the exercise room, and the free internet access. The breakfast is good, but not included in the price of the room. I intend to keep staying here when I'm in Vienna.

While I have no complaints about the service offered (I did not select to have breakfast; didn't make sense @12 Euro, when there's a very good selection of bakeries just around the corner), the room itself was tiny, even by European standards and the bathroom was smaller than a closet.

The only problem was the first night.I was given a room next to major works at the hotel which started at 6h30am.Apologies were extended.Room was changed the next day and a complimentary breakfast was accorded me in compensation i.e.exellent customer service management!

Nice location one U-Bahn stop from the city centre with some neighborhood shops and restaurants close by. Very friendly, competent staff. Rooms on the front can be noisy at night. Ask for room on the side of the hotel.

The free internet is an excellent amenity of this hotel. The exercise room is also the best I've found in Vienna; it has a strength machine in addition to the usual bike/treadmill.

Very nice Hotel... it is just 2 metro stations away from donwtown Wien, which is nothing considering the excellent transportation system. The only thing that bugged me, was the fact that I booked a twin room and when we got there they only had a twin room in a smokers room. I'm a smoker myself, but I don't like to sleep in places with the smell of smoke. Still, it wasn't that bad since the room had been well aerated. The people at the front desk were nice enough and very helpful. It is a decent place to stay in Wien and considering the prices for accommodation in such a touristic city, the Quality vs Price deserves a 9/10.

Very convenient location, only 2 stops right into the heart of the city, which is nothing for Vienna's great transport network. Nice rooms, with good storage, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Does need better, firmer pillows! Breakfast looked like it had a good range, although a bit steep at an additional €12pp each day, so we went down the street to local cafes. Recommend it for value compared to centralcity hotels.

This hotel is very good for the price, very close to schwedenplatz and the city centre. You can easily walk to city centre or get the U-Bahn and it's only 1 stop away. It's also very convenient from the Sudbahnhof, as you can get to the hotel by U-bahn in 10-15 minutes. Really enjoyed the stay.

A nice and inexpensive hotel with excellent public transportation. Free internet-use is possible or Hot Spot in your room. The single rooms are rather on the small side, but ok. Breakfast is really plenty.

Surprisingly modest room rate in view of standard of room (keep it a secret!) and localisation in Vienna. A very good bargain, quite OK amenities and friendly atmosphere.

This hotel was in a very convenient location very near the easy to use city trains. It had a lovely breakfast. The single room I had, while quite small, was very clean and updated. The lobby has lovely European charm. Great value for the money. I would definately stay there again.

A very good hotel, would definitely stay there again. It was a 1 minute walk to the metro station, and close to the city center. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good. The rooms were very clean and spacious.

A convenient location for both the Messe conference facility (2 mins walk from a stop for tram 21, which passes the Messe) and the U-bahn into city centre (again 2 mins walk. It has an old Austrian ambiance, much better than the bland international chain hotels that are close by. Only one small problem...the digital combination for the safe in the room did not always work. This would have been a problem if I'd discovered it on my last morning rather than the day before. Fortunately when I tried again, after letting the thing rest for a few hours after lockout, it did work.

France, Apr 2007
We were very satisfied with our stay at the Nordbahn. We had booked a four-person room and were pleasantly surprised to get a little suite, which enabled our two older children to have their own little room. (The youngest one was given a portacrib at no extra charge.) The hotel has a nice old-fashioned ambiance but is not at all seedy--it is very nicely maintained. It is close to a U-bahn (metro) stop and to the Prater amusement park, and there are a number of affordable restaurants nearby. The only unsatisfactory thing that happened during our stay was that when we asked to have a lamp in the master bedroom repaired, the hotel simply moved it to the other bedroom. We called about it twice but the lamp never did get fixed.

Nice hotel, near Prater Park, great for walks and outdoor activities. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, although not big. Easy to get everywhere on the underground which is right down the street.

A nice hotel, and within easy reach of the city centre (2 underground stops) and close enough to the riesenrad to walk. The area the hotel is in is not the best in Vienna, and we found we had to go towards the city centre to find a restaurant for the evening.
