The hotel is quiet and located very near the University and the Old Town. I held a Congress in the University and the hotel is very close to the campus. Breakfast is good and quite abundant. The room was comfortable and quiet.

Excellent place to stay. Breakfast not as fancy as the hotel down the street, but it was very good nonetheless. The only problem is that the walls/doors are thin. Otherwise, my stay was as good as it could be! I will plan to stay there next time!

The room is spacious, large clothes closet, in our room the window didn't close, and it was winter, so the room was cold, the bathroom even colder (plus the shower didn't work properly). The breakfast is OK. You can have a beer or a soda in the lobby, there is parking in front of the hotel and the location is good. Woulnd't return here, for almost the same price there is better accomodation to be found (and closer to the centre).

Bleckmanns Hotel is excellent value for the price and we would highly recommend it. It is conveniently only a short walk from the Schottentor station, but also the tram stops in front of the hotel. The hotel is well insulated and therefore the rooms are quiet and protected from noise. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed having a large bedroom with sofa, dining table, and study desk as extras and we still had plenty of space. There are many little extras that add value to your stay like free Wi-Fi, a comfortable community lounge outside your room, breakfast, a delicious noodle bar opposite the hotel and a super market around the corner. Outside the hotel front entrance we took a 38 tram to the end of the line at Grinzing and then stepped onto a 38A bus which took us to the top of mountain which gives spectacular views of Vienna. We recommend purchasing a three day travel ticket to ride any bus, tram or underground. We had a wonderful holiday while staying at Bleckmanns and look forward to returning one day.

The hotel is in a very good location with on 5-7 minutes walk to Metro station. It is also located near many historic surrounding. The room is a bit small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good but can be crowded over the weekend. I recommend to stay here as it is very easy for me to travel around.

I've booked a double room for 3 nights and we had the surprise to get a single one !!! The hotel was fully booked and they could only squeeze a spare bed in that tinny single room (it was higher than larger). Second surprise was to be charged at the end one night as for a double room and only 2 nights with 10 Euro discount. I have also specifically required with my booking for car parking in the hotel garage - despite that it was also confirmed by email the parking was full so we had to park our car on street. Be aware with your booking with this hotel !!!!

Staffer at the desk in the late afternoon when I checked in was not very welcoming, appeared to have little information about events in the city, morning staffer was just the oppostite; she was most welcoming and helpful plus very helpful with need information. I ask the night person to change the time of my wake-up call and he indicated that he wasn't sure how to make such a change. Ater a few attempts he said he did make the change in requested but the call came at the original time, not the new time I had requested.

Good for the price! The room, although a bit on the small side and lacking a more comfortable chair, was clean and the service both at the reception and in the breakfast room very much available and pleasant. The security was good. The walk to Stephansplatz takes about 20/25 minutes of casual walking.

Excellent place to be in! Everybody in the hotel starting from the owner to the staff members were so friendly and helpful! Our room was elegantly decorated and was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and soft, ideal for weary travellers like us. Though there was initially a bit of a problem of space in the breakfast room and everybody could not be accommodated at the same time, yet the ladies serving breakfast was so competent and helpful that we could not feel it. We just had to wait for 5 mins and compared to that kind of rush it was nothing! We would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

We enjoyed our stay as the hotel is within walking distance of the city center and a transit hub. The service was very good and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel has an old world charm. Our room probably needed a new carpet, but otherwise, the room was great. The neighborhood was safe, and we ate at a wonderful nearby restaurant.

The Bleckmann is conveniently located, and for what you get is excellent value in Vienna, where hotels are relatively expensive. The Monokle Cafe next door is fine, and very handy for evening meals if you don't feel like walking to other nearby restaurants. We had a quiet room at the rear, away from the street. The breakfast buffet is good but fairly basic. The only low feature is that several buildings in the immediate area are boarded up or being renovated, giving the immediate area a slightly slummy appearance. The desk will sell you a 3-hour wireless card for €15. Although they don't officially offer laundry service, one of the maids kindly washed a few shirts for me (for which I gave her an extra gratuity).

The room was hot in afternoon, as was Vienna. Asked for fan and a very small and barely sufficient fan was provided. I feel fans (they are cheap to buy) should be given readily in summer months if requested, in fact they should be in the room.

WATCH OUT!! This is NOT a hotel but a pension in an old building. The lobby closes (no services) at 9 PM after which you must enter through a dimly lit exterior corridor. You have to walk up 1 floor with your bags from the lobby to get to the elevator!! Room doors are paper thin - you can hear TV's from other rooms on the floor. Internet service is variable and access with access via 15 year old computer (roller ball type) or borrow the laptop from the front desk (only slightly better). Poor value. I found a REAL hotel more centrally located for the same price. Poor value. "Austria CLASSIC HOTEL Bleckmann"? I would not recommended this pension.

Hotel owns by a family. They want to go home by 9 p.m. so you can not come later at night, you can do it only if you have a key, so only if you did check in, but if you just arriving then you need to inform them about your late arrival. Rooms are located in the apartments building from 2nd floor and up, looks like part of the rooms belong to the hotel and other part to the people who lives there. Elevator works from 2nd floor, to get there you need to go upstairs; no one helped us to get our suite cases up stairs, neither downstairs later for check out. Bathroom was cold. Breakfast was not that good, was ok, boiled ages, bread, cheese, coffee (we came to Bleckmann from Italy, may be this is why it looked bad, we could not compare it with Italian breakfast). While check inn, I asked owners (mother and son where there at this moment) about where to go for dinner, she wasn’t patient to explain, she wanted to go home and was not happy about us asking her and her son. The guy was his best, very nice guy. Thanks to him a lot. In the future, if I ever come back to Vienna, I would probably come back to the Bleckmann only if it is not a romantic trip or a trip with kids.

This hotel is perfect for tourists trying to save some money, but want a decent room and a nice atmosphere. The value for the money is excellent. The best thing about this hotel is the location and the ownership. The hotel is located only about 5-10 minutes walk (a nice walk) from a main subway terminal, and only a few minutes from a trolley stop. We were able to get to everywhere in Vienna without any problem from this location. The owners are great, and are excellent at helping out with directions and events. The best things to see while in Vienna are the Shonbrunn Palace, Hofburg palace, and the Opera house. All of these places were easy to reach from the Bleckmann. Parking on the street is limited, but not too much of a problem during our stay. The rooms were great, and the breakfast was one of the best we had while in Austria!

We were a family of 2 adults & 2 children (girls aged 16 & 8) staying at the Bleckmann. This hotel is fairly centrally located in Vienna on a very busy road. We requested a room at the rear of the hotel after reading comments from previous Venere reviews which was most helpful as the road is very noisy. Our room was very small for the 4 of us and the bathroom quite tiny, although all facilities were very clean. Breakfast was good with a wide variety to choose from. The hotel information says they have a garage, but they don't tell you that you need to book a space if you want to use it; as a result we had to park our car several blocks away as it was full when we arrived. I thought for what we paid & the hotels facilities that the hotel was fairly expensive. It was average & clean but I would probably choose to stay elsewhere next time in Vienna.

We liked everything about the Hotel Bleckmann especially the location - fairly close to everything including the subway stop. It's a family run business and the owners were very kind and helpful and spoke perfect English. It was particularly hot and humid during our stay and since the rooms were not air conditioned, we had to keep the window open for some air, but the street below being a main street was kind of noisy.

Good location. I had to switch rooms one night (I knew that I would need to when I booked my reservation). My first room was very spacious and comfortable. The second room was in the stairwell and was very, very small and noisy from the stairwell. I would not want to stay in this room for more than one night. Overall, a nice place, with nice management, pleasant help, and good location. I would stay here again as long as I did not get the "tiny" room.

We thought the room was a very good value. Well-designed, well-maintained. Breakfast was plentiful. We had only two complaints, both relatively minor. The hotel computer to which the guests have access was not working for the entire 4 days we were there. Also, at night we had to come through an adjoining hallway which smelled absolutely terrible. All in all, though, we would recommend this hotel.

Really Disappointed with this place. The Metro was not nearly as close as described. The Breakfast was very poor with a rather grumpy lady each morning. The rooms were small and uncomfortable and not very clean(The bed sheet was badly stained with certain "unmentionable" type stains an was never changed...we had to keep throwing it off each night. The beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom super small and inconvenient. The only good thing was the service of the front staff. It was not bad walking distance to Museum Quarter and then everything else(acutally felt it was easier to walk than to take transport from here). I would not stay here again.

Perfect location for a tourist to Vienna. Very convenient to all sights by foot, tram, or subway. Streetside rooms were very noisy due to the street and tram traffic; ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. Not all rooms are as attractive as in the photographs but are comfortable and seem to be reasonably priced for Vienna.

This hotel was AMAZING. The location was EXTREMELY CONVENIENT! It is right off of a tram line only one stop from a major UBahn Station. Wonderful hotel only a short walk or 1-stop (frequent service) tram ride from an inner ring U-Bahn station. Management was very helpful. The room was excellent for a family (1 double and 2 single beds). Furnishings were of good quality, bathroom was modern, place very clean. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Our room was on the back side of the hotel overlooking a small courtyard and was thus very quiet. We had trouble with making a calling card phone call but did not follow up on it. Considering the limited choices in affordable quad occupancy, we highly recommend this hotel relative to others we have stayed in various European cities.

I decided to go to this hotel after having seen the comments in this pages. After having visited, I must say that some optimistic comments are really excessive (in particular that on breakfast). Ye, the hotel is ok, but the quality/price ratio is not exactly what I expected after having seen all those comments. In particular, after knowing that I reserved here for 7 nights, a friend of mine called the hotel for a 3 nights stay and they told him that 3 days was a too short stay. So this friend of mine found an offer on the Internet for a much, much better Hotel (Hotel Kummer in Mariahilfer strasse). He paid just 2 euros more than I did...and I was very disappointed.

The hotel is not within the ring road of Vienna, but only one tram ride from the ring road. In dry weather, walking from the metro station and the ring road is not a problem. There are restaurants in 10 minutes walk. People working in hotel are very pleasant and speak good English. One problem is noise. The hotel is facing the tram line. You will hear the stop and go of trams and cars constantly from 5 am to 10 pm or later.

Hotel situato in zona molto vicina al centro (10 minuti a piedi). La struttura non è particolarmente nuova. Se dovessi tornare lo farei per la comodità della posizione ma per il resto...

My stay was pleasant. The room was nice, the bed was very narrow, the breakfast quite good. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Computer access was very expensive. The hotel has blocked using telephone cards.

The hotel is OK, and perfectly situated and with buffet breakfast included. Reception is not open 24 hours but this it wasn't a problem for us since you get 2 keys of the room.

Bleckmann is located in an excellent location to visit Vienna by foot or with public transportation. Services provided were excellent and the staff was very helpful. We booked the quadruple room and were impressed with the size and comfort. We will definitely stay there again.

Most excellent hotel on a 18 day tour that included 8 other cities! Best breakfast, best services, great staff, great location to public transportation to get anywhere in Vienna and only 15 minutes to St. Stephen's. Good value for the money, too - we'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Everything about the hotel in terms of facilities, breakfast, size of room and quietness of room was fine and the service was good. My only problem was that the room felt unclean and the bathroom was very poor, in terms of size, cleanliness, and the fact that the shower barely worked. If the room had not been smelly and the bathroom of a reasonable standard I would have rated the hotel highly, but unfortunately those 2 things meant that I had to rate the hotel as below average.

Due to a cardiologists convention, Vienna was completely booked the weekend we stayed there. This was only one of two choices that we found. The owner told us on the phone that the apartment was on the ground floor in the back, and that it was a bit rough. We took it anyway. The price was $145 a night for a group of four (one cancelled at the last minute so we were three). We arrived to find that the apartment was actually in the basement. The entrance was behind the building in a completely darkened courtyard that one had to guess their way through until the security light kicked on. The first night trying to find our way to the door, we were alarmed by a giant great dane who bounded towards us from the darkness. The owner told us that he never saw the dog before, but to not show the dog any fear. That, he said, would assure our safety. The actual room would be hysterically funny if we didn't have to stay there. The shower was in the kitchen area and the glass was almost totally exposed. The nozzle attachment didn't work properly. There was no sink in the the WC, so one had to go back into the kitchen to wash up. Only toilet paper was provided, no tissue boxes. The only mirror was in the kitchen above the sink, and one had to be six feet tall to properly see their face. There was a heater in the bedroom that would come on with a roar whenever the hot water was engaged. The apartment was adjacent to the laundry room, so one was greeted with the smell of laundry & detergent when the front door was opened. It was quiet due to the location in the back of the building, but because there was no clock provided and no sun entered the room, one could never be quite sure what time of day it was. On the plus side, the room was pretty big & the fridge worked fine. Breakfast was included and was decent. To his credit, the owner knocked 15% off the price upon check-out.
