Lovely hotel for our family - clean and comfortable. As the days were hot, the well-functioning AC was a terrific asset during our stay. Food was great, too.

Parking. Free wifi internet. Very reasonable meal prices; we ate each of 3 nights there. Easy walk to bus stop. Great room and breakfast. Loved Salzburg and ease to get to and from via bus. 10-15 minutes. Don't drive!!

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights in June, 2009. This hotel/gasthof is located in the South end of Salzburg, ten minutes by convenient trolley bus to the center of town. Free parking is adjacent to the hotel. Very convenient for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful countryside without having to drive through city traffic. The included breakfast was very good as were all the meals taken in the hotel restaurant which is open continuously until midnight. Room was very large and the bathroom (tub and shower)large and efficient. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever found in Europe and we are seasoned travelers. Laundry service was reasonably priced. All things considered, a real gem and we would not hesitate to stay there again. Some people might think the location, next to a large cemetery, somewhat spooky....not so. It is more like a beautiful park and well worth a visit.

- there was HAIR on the bathtub when we got into our room. - The price we paid through Venere.com was HIGHER than the on-spot rate for the same kind of room. We reserved the romm 4 month ago, so we expected the price would be lower....

The hotel is in a good location for the centre of Salzburg with an excellent public transport service. It also has a first class restaurant for dining in the evening with a good choice of meals. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The accommodation was 1st class.

Clean bright airy rooms with a good breakfast included. 10 min by tram (tram stop about 150 metres)to town center, which is a brilliant city. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Reception staff spoke very good english and very helpful re local transport and area. restaurant staff extremely pleasant and professional, tables cleared quickly and quietly. reastaurant very popular with non-residents.food excellent although partners lamb dish a little salty.

Rooms facing bundesstrasse are very noisy, traffic never stops. ask for room away from street. other than that everything was to our satisfaction, room and bath spotless, service friendly and competent.

Very nice hotel. Bit out of town but easy bus access within 10 minutes. Friendly staff who are very willing to help.

A very nice and well-priced hotel indeed - I have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers. Although it is a little way out of the centre of Salzburg, the no.5 bus is extremely reliable and easy to use

Very nice place, the room was incredibly wide and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a quite good variety of food. The place is very relaxing: a modern and equipped facility that keeps the traditional atmosphere... I'll keep this place in my mind for sure when I'll come back to Salzburg. PS: not even far from the center!!!

Quiet location 8 mins from the centre of Salzburg using the very regular and stunningly efficient trolleybus service. Rooms clean & spacious decorated in a traditional wood-panelled Austrian style. Breakfast consisted of a very extensive hot & cold buffet available in the restaurant and airy conservatory between 7.00 and 10.30am - so useful for an early start or lazy morning!

This was very good value for Austria especially as we stayed at the time of the Salzburg festival. The hotel is clean and friendly, and although adjacent to the main road is well sound-proofed. Food is good - it is not worth trekking specifically into Salzburg to eat. Public areas are very small but there is an internet point (and in the rooms) and a pleasant garden area. It is next to the main cemetery, so may not suit some people. The main downside is its location - a long way out of the city and difficult to find although for those who do not want to drive/do not have a car there is a bus stop outside. We had to get tourist information to tell us how to get there.

Hi there ! We really enjoyed our staying in the family room in your hotel ! The room with airco was perfect ; the service so kind and good and the food was great ! Breakfast could be improved. Big spacious rooms with clean bathroom. Little away from city centre but well connected by bus

It was my first stay in this hotel.i enjoyed it very much , although i wasn,t able to connect to the internet.you should make this process easyer because not everyone is a master of computers

Rooms were spacious and very comfortable and clean. Located just outside of the old town centre, it is very easily accessed by public transit, on foot or by cab. I great value!

When we arrived late at night, the man at the reception desk was very helpful in finding a restaurant close to the hotel that was still serving dinner, including searching Google for local restaurants and calling the restaurants to see if the kitchen was still open. We stayed in a 4 person room which was clean and spacious. The free breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of selection. The only drawback of the hotel is that it is not centrally located, but the bus stop is very close by and is a 10 minute bus ride into the city.

Great hotel if you do not want to stay right in the city centre. Public transport to the city centre is just around the corner. We had a car and it was easy to find, and great to use as a base to explore the surroundings of Salzburg

We really enjoyed our stay. We were able to book one room for a family of 4 and had plenty of space. The restaraunt in the hotel was excellent. The staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

I recommend this hotel. Rooms are spacious, breakfast is good, personnel are kind and it has a very good restaurant. The only inconvenience is that it is not centrally located but it has a free parking lot. Our car run out of battery one night and we were assisted by the owner of the hotel with a very helpful disposition and concern. I would glady return to this hotel.

Modern and clean hotel with nice restaurant attatched. About a 30-40 min walk to the main part of the city, but a couple of restaurants along the way and a bus that goes straight from outside the hotel. Very efficient service from waiters/waitresses across the city (sometimes a little too efficient!). Brush up on your German before you go and keep the windows of your hotel room shut (mosquitoes, even in late october!)

Hotel a little far from downtown. A good bus service is available. To explain the score on quietness : Do not sleep with open windows. I was bothered an bitten many times by mosquitos during the night. There was no screen on windows.

Vos indications pour se rendre à l'hotel manque de précisions et surtout de franchise : site de l'hotel face a un cimetiere d'un coté et d'une route à grande circulation de l'autre et un accueil tres primaire pour un hotel classé 4 * la restauration n'est même pas digne d'un bar de basse classe à paris en france (peut-être parce que nous ne pratiquons pas la langue du pays !!!!!!!!!!!)nous ne vous ferons pas une bonne pub loin de là et tres grande deception de l'accueil des autrichiens domage le paysage n'est pas à la hauteur de certains des habitants!!!!!!

The hotel is not close to the city center but the bus line is very close by. The lobby area/elevator was very small to navigate with luggage and children. There was a playground but it needed some attention and upkeep.

Nel complesso la struttura è accettabile. Va un pò migliorata la pulizia delle stanze che rimane comunque accettabile. Un pò fredda l'accoglienza. Assolutamente bocciati i letti, troppo scomodi.

(+) Easy access to downtown if you are willing to take a bus or taxi. Quad room was good size for family of four (2 teenagers). Food and beer garden were fabulous. (-) Room was not cleaned daily and fresh towels were not provided. Room looked out over street so some traffic noise and light at night.

Had to wait 15 minutes before anyone showed up to check us in. Water for shower in the morning was only luke-warm.

The Hotel is not very near the center, but the bus stop is very close and in 10 minutes we were at the Mozart House. Room quite big,clean and very quite. We ahve eaten every evening at the hotel and the food was very good, also for breakfast. The price was very good for a 4 stars like this. A very good week-end even if very rainy.

The room offered the biggest value as it was very spacious and well furnished, which gave you a feeling of being at home. I felt very comfortable at the hotel, and though you had to walk quite a distance every day to get to the inner city, you had a beautiful view of the mountaions to the south and a clear view of the old castle to the north. If you want to stay close to the center of Salzburg, dont choose this hotel. Otherwise I sincerelly recommend it and compared to the price level of hotels in Salzburg you get a very good value for your money.

Spacious room. Breakfast buffet not a lot of choices though.. Nonetheless, it is still worth the money spent.

Huge rooms! One room was smokey-forgot to ask for non-smoking rooms - pretty disgusting stink. Otherwise great hotel. 10 mins drive or taxi from the centre of town. Friendly, helpfull staff.

Hotel was perhaps a little too far from the city centre and being very close to a cemetery was unfortunate. Also there was nowhere to go for a walk straight from the hotel. If the main reason for the visit is to visit the city then the location is not too good. This was not the main reason for our visit so it did not matter too much. It is close to the airport which for some could be an advantage. The staff were good although the bath was never cleaned very well. Also they had the cheapest internet access around.

Everything was bafulous in Salzburg including the hotel! great staff, excellent food, quiet location, clean & spacious rooms. It was the right choice. And Salzburg is charming. Make sure you stay at least 3-4 days to enjoy the surroundings. Tours like Sound of music (lakes & mountains), ice caves, bavarian mountains, salt mine are not to be missed. A show in the marionette theatre is also recommended.

Gasthof Holle offered a wonderful stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The breakfast room and dinner terrace were very cozy, and the staff were very helpful. Even those whose English was not as strong were still incredibly helpful. I strongly recommend it!

This hotel surpassed our expectations!! We had to catch an early train to Vienna and the staff prepared breakfast an hour earlier than normal to accommodate us, in addition to arranging transportation to the bus station. It was a holiday in Austria as well...May 5. The room was very spacious and clean, the dinner was scrumptious and elegantly laid out/served. The waitress was very nice to my 4yr old daughter. Breakfast the following day was lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend this hotel.

The rooms were extremely spacious and well equiped, the staff was VERY helpful and friendly and, all in all, it was a wonderful experience. Public transportation was directly across the street and very convenient.

I would really reccommend this hotel to anyone staying in salzburg although not in the centre of town it was about a 20 min walk and there is a bus every 10-15mins which is 1.80E the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay.

Albergo molto carino, pulito, accogliente e neanche troppo distante dal centro di Salisburgo (5/10 minuti in macchina). Ottimo sia per un week end che per 3/4 giorni.

The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is located not far from the old city, but it is helpful to have a car. It's best to have a car anyway in Salzburg, since the daytrips were the best part of the stay. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to all of my friends.

Little bit difficult to find out the Hotel. Better set up bigger sign for Foreigner. There was no shampoo in the Bathroom, for us no problem becuase we usually use private shampoo .

Very pleasant room. I wonder why the room service does not provide usual toiletries, e.g. bath foam, soap,toothpaste, etc. etc. The restaurant is decent, but not impressively good

Everything is perfect. Especially, the food the hotel restaurant gives us is excellent and reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay.

A most enjoyable experience, will definately return. The Hotel Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly.

Cannot criticise the room and buffet breakfast at all. Had dinner there twice food was excellant but because we were English were not given the "Specials" menu because it was only written in German, but 1st night the Manager described it to us, no problem, and it offered a fantastic choice. 2nd time Manager off duty and had a problem communicating to waiter to get the special menu details. Num 5 bus every 15 minutes into centre (5 mins E1.70 each way). Fantastic Hotel in great quiet location. Do the Sound of Music Tour and Salt mine trip , plus Bavarian Alps trip, all really enjoyable. Also go up to the fortress (walk or by mountain train fabulous views of Salzburg).

A very clean, efficient and friendly hotel with big spacious rooms. The breakfast was huge. You could have filled up with enough food to last you all day.

Only a note: I've chosen two double rooms with air conditioned, but only one was provided!
