This is a very good hotel that I would return to. The 49 tram is accross the street that takes you to city center. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the train station. The underground is accross from the train station. I read comments about sex shops and there are some by the train station and all over Vienna, no problem take the 49 tram and you don't go by them. Our single rooms where double size. We requested quiet rooms and were given very quiet inside rooms. The staff was very helpful and booked several day trips for us.

Well located hotel, when up for shopping in the city of vienna. Public transport in the neighborhood. Cheaper rooms are located to one of the most frequented roads in Vienna, which makes it quite noisy! Despite of that, I can strongly recommend it and will book again for 2 to 3 days city trips.

I stayed 4 nights, Hotel was nice. To bad this Hotel was not in a nicer aerea. I would not stay at the west side again. Some people complained about the expensive Breakfast-buffet. It was no problem to order just eggs and toast instead.

When we arrived in early evening our rooms were not ready for us. We had booked executive rooms but they were so small that the double bed was up against a wall, the bathroom door in ours did not shut because it did not fit the frame and the safe was jammed locked and open. We did not eat breakfast as we were not willing to pay 15 Euros each when we could get drink and croissant for 13 Euros for the 4 of us at the station cafe.

The only issue we faced was difficulty finding the hotel. mapquest maps printed out showed a different location. The driving instructions on our confirmation from the hotel were minimal and vague. After driving around for half an hour, we finally stopped at a shop to ask where the street was!

The desk clerks were very helpful with information of the area. The smoking in the public areas was unpleasant. The breakfast was outstanding in both variety and quality.

This was a great hotel but location is important and it is a little out of the way. A 10-15 min subway trip was needed to go everywhere, which was annoying because there were closer places to stay with comparable prices. Try and stay near Stephonsplatz (st stevens plaza) thats where everything happens in Vienna

Modern, spacious room....comfortable beds....well-located for train travelers, but nevertheless quiet....excellent breakfast room service (Breakfast buffet is not included in most offered room prices, and is overpriced; we recommend ordering a la carte to the room.) Courteous, helpful staff.

Great hotel. The only bad thing is the price of the parkings in Wien (the parking of the hotel is 18 euros per day , and you can find some commercial parking at 12 euros per day. No free parking in Wien, even in the street)

There are sex shops 2 blocks away across street to each other. The surrounding area is dirty. First day when we are back from outing walking from subway station to the hotel, there was a man flash his ID saying he is a policeman asking us for passport, I showed my passport. He continued to ask what's inside of my porch which contained all my cash, and insisted to see into it. At that point I figured that He is not a real policeman, and walked away. I reported to the hotel counter requesting them to report to police station to find out if they did have a plain cloth policeman around that corner. The counter refered it to the concierge who said no to worry about it. Next day they gave me same answer, they don't want to be bothered. For the money we paid, this hotel is not worth at all.

I was waked up middle in the night thrue very loud music from the building next to the hotel. I called the reception, and the receptionist said, he would see. This terrible music made me sick tomorow, when I went to the Symposium, so I ask me should I next time take another hotel in Vienna.

This review is from a young 20-something Australian couple who travelled around Europe in July 2006. We stayed in a wide variety of hotels in various cities across Europe, all for the same average price per-room per-night (90-95EUR). At the Arcotel, we were upgraded from a standard suite to an executive studio (it was our honeymoon), so the hotel was excellent compared to what we were expecting! Nonetheless, the hotel was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The factilties (including free internet access) were great. The hotel was also well located to many of the major sites and shopping areas. Great hotel. I would stay here again.

The restaurant and bar excellent, although there was a limited choice of vegetarian dishes. The thermostat in the room didn't seem to work very well, making the room very warm at all times. Having free internet access is wonderful, but all 3 computers were so slow that it took me nearly an hour to send one urgent e-mail.
