Comfort Hotel Rouen Alba - Rouen

Perfect the position, and suggested for short holiday

The hotel's location is excellent, close to the river and the city centre. My room had a view of the cathedral. The service not too kind, they didn't seem to care about a one night guest. The room was ok, big enough for two, but the armchairs were dirty. The bathroom was nice and clean, but the toilette was broken, and they were not even trying to fix it. The breakfast is ok. It is value for money, but nothing more.

D'une manière générale, le rapport qualité/prix est raisonnable à l'hotel Alba. Il est très bien sité (à 2 pas de la cathédrale ND de Rouen), et facile d'accès. Les chambres sont plutôt petites, tout comme les salles de bain, mais elles sont très propres. Cependant, ma chambre était située au 1er étage, et TOUTE LA NUIT, j'ai été tenue éveillée par un groupe de fêtard, qui est resté dans la rue à crier et écouter de la musique => isolation sonore à revoir, à mon avis!!! Pas de double vitrage et cadres de fenêtres un peu vêtustes... L'accueil a été sympathique, je ne regrette donc pas mon choix! Juste un conseil : prenez le petit déjeuner ailleurs, il est très cher à cet hotel...

L'hotel è in ottima posizione, proprio in centro. Le camere sono confortevoli ma i bagni decisamente minuscoli! Il parcheggio privato non è sempre disponibile ma si può parcheggiare nei dintorni. Il personale è di poche parole, se non addirittura sgarbato!

We got a very bad room, with some paper between the wall and the door to prevent noise, not even one chair, no place to walk between the bed and what they call a "bathroom", only one light at the bed. we asked for a "comfort room", paying 10 € more than standard to avoid that. We had to go out on the pavement to go in again in the main hotel, they announced a parking but had no place for our car ...

The directions were hopeless. Very difficult to find the hotel. Parking was promised but none available. Very unhelpful staff, not very good breakfast, very noisy rooms.

Location - fine and as described. Room - clean but tiny, safe did not work and having requested a repair, waited for twenty minutes for the promised immediate attention and then went out taking all our documents with us. The room was on the fourth floor with no lift and no offer of help with luggage. I am 62 , but reasonably fit. Anyone older or less fit and you would have had one less client! Reception - appalling. On asking where to park the car, double parked outside, this was met with " the car park" which turned out to be a public car park 300m away, cost 9 euros and down six flights of stairs with no lift, When I enquired about the "guaranteed parking spaces" in their brochure this was met with a Gallic shrug of the shoulders and "full". So much for the guarantee. On asking to see the manager, "not here". On asking for a town map, advertised as available from reception, a search under the reception desk produced some that were thrown on the desk. I was thrown one - which turned out to be in Spanish, and, on returning, the rest were in German. On returning at 23.30, we were met with a locked front door, reception with the shutters down and only constant ringing on the doorbell brought someone in a dressing gown to the front door to reluctantly let us in. So much for the 24/7 reception. This is our first booking with you and I was not impressed with the reality versus the sales pitch and whilst I understand that you cannot check every hotel that you book, some feedback may enable you to put some pressure on the hotel to improve its standards and help the next poor sod that stays there - and a refund of the car parking!!

Hotel fine for the price. Good central Location. Charged us for parking although it states it is free on the website. Booked twins but only doubles available when we got there. They ended up putting in extra single beds which sorted the problem.
