Hotel Reviews Franciscus

Franciscus provided all the services we needed for a relaxing week in Verona. This was our first visit and the position of the hotel was only a short walk to the centre of the city. We were told of some of the better local restaurants for evening meals. When we wanted a car and driver, this was arranged perfectly for us.

The proprietor and his wife were extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient. The airline had mislaid our luggage and we could not have retrieved it quickly without the proprietor's patient help and advice. We stayed in a one-room apartment which was well equipped, clean and quiet, and close to all the places that we wanted to visit on foot.

My sister and I had a very lovely stay at this Hotel. Francesco, the owner, is a wonderful man, very welcoming, helpful, friendly and warm. The room was very spacious and opened onto a quiet inner courtyard. The bathroom was large and very clean. The Hotel itself was within walking distance from the train station, and also from the center area of town and other attractions, though on a quieter, more residential street itself. Perks were the free computer use with internet service available in the entrance area 24/7. Also available 24/7 was a cappuccino machine in the breakfast room! As well, breakfast included buns and cakes, cheese and ham, cereal, O.J. fruit salad, etc . We paid less and got more free services and a warmer reception in this hotel than any other on our trip (5 hotels in all) . Just remember to take into consideration checking in times sent to you, as the doors are not open all times of day. (You will have a code for the front door after checking in). It is the reddish building in the picture.

It is a small, very friendly hotel. It was a pleasure to be there, the owner is very helpful. It is somewhat expensive (probably all Verona in the opera festival season is)

We stayed in this hotel because it was the cheapest we could find in Verona. We believe hotel prices in Verona, compared to other cities, are very over priced. We were staying at a hotel in Lake Garda, but we wanted to spend a night in Verona to see the Opera at the arena.

We enjoyed this hotel: the operator was friendly, courteous, and helpful, our room was neat and clean, and the buffet breakfast was quite good. We also enjoyed Verona: do the Juliet tour if you like Shakespeare and the Renaissance.

The accomodation exceeded our expectations in all respects. The photographs do not do justice to it. As a base for walking around Verona it is ideal, with the Arena a leisurely 15 minute walk away. This was our first visit to northern Italy and Francesca was very helpful, and there every morning. Verona is a good base for using the excellent rail system to get to other towns and cities, and the railway station is within a comfortable 15 minute walking distance. We would be very happy to stay here again.

Owner is a nice man. Breakfast was pretty good. A little bit of a walk to the "main attractions" in Verona, but not too bad. Loved the free internet in the lobby.

Nous avons été déçus par cette adresse. Bruyant.

Franciscus rimane l'alloggio preferito a Verona.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were larger than any other we'd stayed in during our European journeys and the bathroom was modern and immaculate. Also, there was a balcony overlooking a quaint little courtyard. Breakfast was buffet served, but offered a range of satisfying foods. Also, Francesco was a great help for directions to and from the airport and to great local restaurants. We highly recommend!

Francesco is a charming and helpful host. All the assistance you need to truly enjoy Verona is provided, by someone who loves it and wants you to love it too. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. I would thoroughly recommend

nice place, close to the centre of town and where you basically get a suite for the night (kitchen/lounge area, bedroom and bathroom). breakfast is provided in a room on the 2nd floor and tries to cover most bases in what it offers - crostata, bread, jam, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt etc. overall, franciscus is nice, clean, quiet and would recommend. however, no late arrivals so make sure you're there by 19:30 else you risk a little telling off (we were late....!)

This is a very nice B&B. The only remark I have is about the breakfast: it was a little poor from the choice and the quality point of view.

Excellent quiet location close to Arena - good breakfast and pleasent and helpful staff. HOWEVER - room given was not as photographed but rather a cramped 3rd floor attic with very low ceilings - especially in the bath making it impossible to shower. Very little cupboard space and nowhere to put our cases without blocking doors. And no real window. Definitely NOT what was shown on Venere. The other rooms on the lower floors were as advertised - but August being Opera season they were full.

At first we had difficulties to find accomodation in Verona, since all hotels were booked out or too expensive. But Franciscus came as a great surprise, hidden under "bed and breakfast". It was not only one of the best hotels we stayed in Italy, but also guest attention was impeccable (Francesco even wrote for us a short list of reccommended "non-touristic" restaurants. The one we tried - which we would never have found on our own - was exquisite). The rooms are well furnished, clean and spacious. The only thing i can think of that could be improved is breakfast. All in all, a highly reccommendable stay. Verona is in our "must visit again" list, and Franciscus would be definitely be the choice for accommodation when it happens.

A nice find in Verona! Despite almost all other places being booked, we lucked out with the Franciscus, hidden under "guest houses" on Venere. The stay was personable and friendly, and Francesco was particularly accommodating, helping us settle and map our way around Verona, and getting us a taxi when we left. Rooms are surprisingly spacious, ours had an unexpected living area and kitchenette. Breakfast was a bit smaller than European standards, and when we sent housekeeping away one morning our room was not made up that day -- but these were minor inconveniences easily forgiven in a smaller guest house, and well compensated by the other positive aspects of the Franciscus, including an excellent location! Highly recommended, and we would return if given the chance.

accueil excellent, chambre très agréable, petit déjeuner copieux. Ce relais placé au centre de Vérone, permet de visiter cette ville absolument magique, sans soucis de stationnement. Nous vous conseillons vivement ce B&B.

We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B. Be careful to check the check-in times though, as it's not open all day or evening.

Good value for money. Nothing spectacular but the facilities are adequate and will allow for comfortable stay. Soundproofing within the building could be better, but we never lost sleep for it.

Nice place, slightly out of the centre of town, but near the train station. Other rooms looked good, but ours was the loft room (very small with only a sky light and no window). Breakfast was good.
