The apartment was generally quite clean, but there was a very odd stench that filled the kitchen and living room areas of the apartment. It was sometimes overwhelming and only after leaving the balcony door open for some time to get some air did it dissipate. Also, when I was packing my things to leave, I found a used condom package underneath a dresser in the bedroom, making me wonder how clean the place really was.

This was a good choice for us. It was near the train station. The photos dont do the place justice! Its lovely inside and very spacious. The kitchen is full of everything you need to cook a meal. The welcome was coordinated just perfectly. We met at the designated place outside the railway station and we were shown to our apartment and shown eateries on the way. Can't fault the service in any way!

Met us at the train station on time. Much nicer than I expected. In a residential building, close to the train station, but just far enough away. Quiet, clean bed/bath. 1 king bed and two single beds in separate rooms, kitchen, and living room. The living room could use a vacuum, but wasn't bad (and we didn't use it). Had a washing machine. As stated in other reviews, it didn't work at first. We just removed the soap dispenser and cleaned it out. It was gunked up with liquid detergent. Sadly, I think it was us Americans at fault... it is a front loading washing machine which doesn't require as much detergent. Bathroom was a good size... the only complaint was that there was no shower curtain. I normally expect this in Europe, however, the bath tub is not caulked where it meets the wall. So no matter which way you adjust the shower head, water is going to get on the floor. The shower head is removable, so we just sat down in the tub. All in all, this was one of the better places for the money that we stayed at.

The apartment was beautiful. Our only complaint was that the rugs had not been cleaned for quite some time, which was shocking.

Nice apartment, with modern baths and kitchen. Well located in a quiet but convenient location close to train and water bus stations, making walks with luggage easy. Elevator is a nice luxury after being on your feet all day. Apartment has lots of windows and light and a very pleasant atmosphere. Management needs to provide more than one towel per person for a weeek's stay. Also, a dish towel would be nice for drying dishes. Americans should remember to bring a wash cloth as you do not get these in Europe. Specific oral instruction should be given for the washing machine and air conditioner since there are numerous warnings about fines if they are used incorrectly. A comment book in the apartment would be helpful, so that guests can share info about local restaurants and stores.

Shortly before arriving here, it's a good idea to ring the number supplied and check that someone really is expecting to come and meet you. On arrival, check there's a plug in the bath - a whirlpool bath isn't much use without one! Also, make sure the washing machine works a day or two before you really need to use it. Looking after 3 small children with neither a usable bath nor a washing machine was difficult to say the least. Tip for using the hob: keep the button which ignites the gas for the rings down for a few seconds when you turn the ring on. The rings are more likely to stay alight if you do this, though they still need watching to check they don't go out. Finally, who spray-painted the word 'Hotel' on the door??!

Agli Scalzi was even nicer than we anticipated. Stephano met us at the train station, helped us with our luggage, gave us a thorough orientation to the apartment and its features, provided a map of Venice and made several helpful suggestions on what to see and where to eat in Venice. The apartment was very spacious (except for the tiny shower!) and beautifully furnished with marble floors, electric window shades, air conditioning (even though it didn't cool as efficiently as we're used to), dishwasher, washing machine, and 2 TVs (one with a VCR). It was very conveniently located near the train station and the Farrovia vaporetto stop. Venice was our first stop on our 11 day tour of Italy and Agli Scalzi made an excellent first impression!

Apt spacieux, très agréable et au calme. Tout près de Ferrovia d'où on peut aller facilement n'importe où dans Venise. Globalement très satisfait, un seul bémol : Venere indique qu'aucun acompte n'est perçu alors qu'en fait l'agence en demande un, ce qui se comprend mais on aimerait être prévenu.

This is a very pleasant, spacious property. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there (4 of us). The apartment is located quite close to the main train station for Venice, so not too far to walk with suitcases, but far enough away to feel peaceful and quiet. We'd definitely stay there again.
