The main problem with the apartments which we rented for 3 days was the room noise. The apartments are above one of the main shopping streets in Ortigia, which should be a prestige location, but the double glazing is simply too thin and ineffective, making the rooms far too noisy for the price paid. The rooms on the first floor were obviously more affected by the noise than those on the third. The quality of the rooms is otherwise quite acceptable.( The fact that the mirror in one of the rooms which hid the safe had been fixed so that the safe could not be used has to be taken as just one of those things.) These apartments have been upgraded by someone who is obviously trying to reach normal western Europeasn standards, and not quite reaching them.
