Self Catering Apartment Ovidius (L/033) - Rome

The apartment was all we expected it would be from the photos and description. It was more than adequate for our family of 5. however, as we were visiting during a heat wave, air conditioning would have helped. Also, we had a little trouble figuring out the washing machine (which turned out to be a common problem for us throughout Italy) so english instructions may be helpful. The apartment was a little far from the main tourist sites but walkable for our active family and easily accessible by taxi. The surrounding neighborhood was generally quiet except that we left our windows open at night due to the heat and caught a bit of traffic noise. It would be helpful for future residents to have a neighborhood map and listing of recommended restaurants and services. Overall, it was a great place to come back to each night, in a relatively peaceful neighborhood, and the accommodations were very comfortable. I would not hesitate selecting this apartment or this company again.

It's a wonderfull, spacious appartment. Only one negative aspect: the floor of the appartment wasn't very well cleaned. We noticed this especially because our 10-month old baby was crawling around the appartment.

good place to stay and very convenient. may help to have some information with leaflets on public amenities like taxi travel tourism, transport at the residence.

A few things: I think that the rental agency should provide some kind of map of the area when you meet with them to pick up the keys. Also a bit of information re what buses to take to the city centre or the location of the nearest metro station would have helped. As well, a book in the apartment giving express instructions concerning operating the stove/washing machine/etc would be helpful - Italian appliances are very different from North American ones! In our case, an iron is available at Ovidius, however, it does not fit any of the electrical outlets, obviously it requires an adapter or something...overall the Ovidius is lovely and knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
