Location was superb. We had 2 separate apts - one had a large dayroom but the kitchen was simply part of the wall. The other had a tiny kitchen but the dayroom contained nothing but a single bed (TV was in the bedroom). The 30 Euro late arrival fee applies to each room - so tho we arrived in 1 group at 8.30 p.m. we were charged an extra 60 euro. And check-out is 10 a.m. a bit early anywhere. The heaters/AC units each night provided a different room with an off/on again broken washing machine roar and rumble. You have to take your trash one block over from the front of the building - they don't even give you a single trash liner bag nor is there anything to wash the dishes with. We stayed 5 nights - there basically was no service nor anyone in the office even during posted office hours. This was especially exciting when we came back to get our luggage pre-airport departure to find no-one there waiting as agreed. Location is excellent but nothing else. Enjoy the selection of antipasto at the nearby food market (closed on Sunday.)If you have good legs and time, skip the public transport and just walk and wander. Mail postcards from the Vatican PO - easier than standing in line at the national PO. Barter with street peddlers! Never pay more than 1/2 the asking price. Enjoy.

I was in Rome almost a week and this apartment was really an excellent deal. They gave me an apartment slightly larger than the one I booked as it was available, and it was huge. The staff were friendly and competent, and let me use the internet and make calls when my flight was canceled. The price was incredible, as was the location. Near everything, bus lines close, many small shops to buy food for your breakfast. I will return.

Great location with good value accommodation. No comfortable chairs to sit on which is the only minor omission in an excellent stay in Rome. Would recommend this to any one looking for self catering apartments close to the Vatican. Staff very helpful.

3rd time in rome and borgo pio provided by far the best value for money accommodation, and best staff and facilities I have experienced. The room was upgraded to a 2 bedrooms apartment and the quality of this was exceptional. The only problem was neighbours we could hear arguing through bedroom wall late at night. It was minutes from St Peters and Ottaviano metro, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Could not ask for better self catering accommodation in Rome.

The internet-rating sounded nearly TOO good - but it was all true. On the 5th floor there must be a kind of machine which makes a constant little noise in the app. of the 4th floor (corner)- could not find out what it was. But otherwise just perfect - position, appartement, very clean, modern, neutral in a positive way. We had a very good time in the surroundings, most restaurants are nice. Will definitely go back when going to Rome again! We stayed for a week - the perfect time is October for Rome - less tourists and very fine weather.

Highly recommended. The apartment was perfect, spartan and clean with a great view, we were on the fifth floor. Ideally located, a four minute walk to St-Peter's Square, with all the amenities close by. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

The apartment was walking distance to all of the tourist attractions but yet neighborhood quaint. The apartment and location is what helped make the vacation perfect.

These apartments worked really well for our group. We had 8 people in our group and we had plenty of space. 10 minute walk to the Vatican. 20 minute walk to nearest metro station. There is a grocery store just around the corner and plenty of restaurants in the area. Definately would stay there again. The management was very helpful with arranging of limo service to and from the airport.

The apartment we stayed in (No 13) was very light and spacious. The manager was very helpful and welcoming. We had use of the washing and ironing facilities in the basement. There was internet access available for a small fee too. The location was great. Very near the Vatican. We bought a 1 week bus ticket which proved valuable as there were bus stops very close by to get us to the tourist sights easily. The number 40 bus was superb for getting to and from the station. If we return to Rome we would definitely check if this was available first.

We booked a Remo apartment for two people but were upgraded to a two bedroom apt. at no extra charge. We stayed for 3 nights in June. The staff were friendly and efficient, rooms were spotless and the location was perfect; Vatican on your doorstep and the Centro Storico a short walk away. Very handy food shop one minute from entrance. I would definitely use this location again. No problem using credit cards to pay, we arrived after 7 pm and did not have to pay a surcharge.

A very nice place to stay at, but the charge of 30 Euros for coming after 6 p.m. is too high. Also, we were sold Roma cards for 20 Euros although the entry to all exhibition places was free the week of our stay! Christine

What a wonderful base for a visit to Rome. It was a pleasure to return to the flat after a hard days sight seeing. There are very good shops and take away food nearby and it was better than having to eat out every evening and lunchtime. Certainly if you were planning to spend time in the Cistine Chapel and around St Peters this is prime accommodation. The staff were very helpful. The view from the breakfast area over the snmall square below and the view beyond is exceptional.

These are VERY spacious apartments with high ceilings, so you feel like you are in a home not a rental apartment. The amenities are basic, nothing extravagant, however, the size really makes a difference if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The full kitchen is nice if you want to cook some meals. The location is OUTSTANDING, perhaps the best in all of Rome for the price. Just around the corner is the pedestrian only street, Borgo Pio, which is full of outdoor cafes, restaurants and pizzarias. Our favorite Pizzaria is "Pizza Rustica" right at the corner behind the hotel. Staff is mulitlingual and VERY helpful. Elisabetta and Lori were wonderful hosts -- very pleasant and knowledgable. The only thing one should be aware of is that this hotel does NOT have a full time reception. If you arrive after 8pm, they will leave the key for you on the table at the entrance and you will be charged 30 Euros for late arrival. Other than that, this is an excellent hotel in a GREAT location for the price. The ONLY problem we encountered was the fact that they were building a rooftop breakfast/viewing area while we were there and there was a lot of noise during the day, but we would leave by 8am when they started and return after 5pm when they finished. We were there at the end of June 2007. As long as they have finished that large scale construction, then this hotel should be very quiet.

We did not stay at the main building so i can not comment on it. When we arrived at the hotel we are told that there is no apartment available in the main building, so we have to stay in an apartment a block a way. While the apartment was bigger than what we expected, it was located on realy noisy and busy street, which made sleeping imposible. If you consider staying at Borgo Pio you have to make sure that you stay in the main building which is located on much smaller and quieter street.
