Self Catering Apartment Amor di Casa - Rome

We are a couple in our early 50's and we really enjoyed our stay at Casa di Amor. It's a bit funky (think college dorm furnishings) but it's very roomy and comfortable. After reading how small hotel rooms tend to be in Rome, I think this was a good value. A great restaurant, coffee shop and bakery around the corner. Here is my only note of caution: when in a foreign country (and you don't speak the language) it can be a huge comfort to be in a hotel where an employee can translate, give directions, help with a phone call, etc. When you are in an apartment such as this you are completely on your own. You need to be good with that. That said, Francesca met us at the door and gave us thorough instructions, and it is a 20 minute walk (if you don't get lost) to the Colosseum. Be aware that you are on the edge of the city (off Plaza di Porta Maggiore) and this area is not shown on the tourists maps given out. Buy a Pocket Pilot of Rome (a pocket sized, foldable map) to make sure you can get home. You WILL get lost. It's part of the adventure and enchantment of Rome! P.S. There is a large, comfortable kitchen in the apartment, but I could not attach a photo. P.P.S Venere does not have an N/A option in the questionaire. Francesca and her staff were wonderful and extremely accomodating. We needed a cot,early check-in and check-out and they assisted us without hesitation. Great location.In a residential neighborhood. Near a rail stop. Overall, a great experience.

very nice quiet apartment in a nice area, a short walk to metro station, clean and spacious,lady very helpful at our arrival! enjoyed the our stay very much!

We arrived late even though the description stated this was not possible. We were met at the appartment, with the fridge filled with fruits and yoghurt for the next morning. Really nice to be met and informed about transportation, local shops etc. We enjoyed the stay except the service of the taxi company who never showed on our return day...

Bonjour, L'accueil des propriétaires était très chaleureux et sympathique. La situation de l'appartement tout à fait correcte (à 5 mn du métro) d'où le calme de la rue. Le petit déjeuner très copieux. Notre rêve est d'y retourner. Bon séjour à tous. PS. Une adresse à conseiller car on se sent vraiment chez soi dans cet appartement si chaleureux. Catherine
