Hotel Reviews Quartier Latin 2

We were very disappointed because the apartment which was provied us was not the one which I reserved. The day of arrival I made a phone call to have a key in front of the Apaterment Quartir Latin (2), the person told me that the apartment was changed. Then she arrived with car, and taked us to the Apartment Guisarde. We had to accept this change because it was already late and there was not other possibility. But while the Apartment Quartier Latain (2) which I reserved had the elevator and the bathtub, the Apartment Guisarde had no elevator and no bathtub. And after all, we had to pay the same price. It was very regrettable in spite of the very good location because we could not get the confort of the apartemtnt which we expected.

We stayed 2 nights. When we arrived late (Eurostar was delayed), there was no obvious way to access apartment (i.e., no front desk, like a hotel or as we had experienced in Dublin when we booked an apartment there last year). We ultimately contacted the property mananger from the phone number on the confirmation. Unfortuantely, for reasons not clear, the apartment we reserved was not available the 1st night, but the manager immediately found an alternative apartment 15 minutes walk away and paid for a taxi to get us there. The switch to the original aprtment the next day went smoothly. While I rate the quietness of the room on the poor side, we expected this given the location; not a major concern for us.

This is a self-serve apartment, not a full-service hotel. Very good location. Good value for money.

We stayed at this very small apartment in the Latin Quarter in early June. The owner was very friendly and accessible and showed up as promised to greet us with keys, despite the fact that we got stuck in traffic and arrived 30 minutes late. Unfortunately the room was way too small for 2 adults and 2 kids (even though they are both under 8 years old). The mattresses were pretty old and the kids futon was very uncomfortable. Luckily we were exhausted from the time change from Singapore, so we were able to sleep because every night there were street performers around the corner from the apartment performing until midnight with VERY loud stereo systems. While the description acurately describes this as a studio, the pictures make it seem bigger than it is, especially the tiny balcony. Also, while there is an elevator (once you walk up a full flight of stairs into the building, it barely fit our family standing on top of each other -- for luggage, it was one person & 1 suitcase at a time. Then, another half flight of stairs up or down to the actual apartment. The neighborhood is touristy but fabulous anyway with lots of restaurants and bars and easy access to metro and trains. Less touristy but equally charming areas are within a few blocks walk, as is the river.

Compared to other spaces and hotels for the price, this really could not be beat, especially with the added perk of the fold out bed for kids and the balcony. We were met when we arrived. The room was neat and clean and the bathroom spotless (warning: bring your own soap) The table and little kitchenette has a fridge which is nice too. The location is outstanding -- steps to the metro (#4), steps to Notre Dame and short walks to much else, especially the Jardin du Luxumbourg. The room is noisy at night when the balcony door is open but the closed is no louder than other places in the area that face the street. We'll definitely come back.

I like the location of the place, one of the best in my opinions, with many restaurants of all kinds of ethnic food to choose from. However, the owner forced us to check out earlier than agreed upon. The lighting did not work properly. Other than that, the apartments are great for a family of two or four people, with plenty of room and cleanliness.

Kitchen/bathroom in good condition and ok, if you shower quick.Balcony is not nearly as nice as in web side, heating is only possible with a tiny radiator, bed is too short/small for tall people or couple, additional couchbed is unstable.Initial contact with owner via cellphone, second personally for code-number, pay cash in advance - thats the service! Still miss a receipt. BUT - the surrounding St.Michel area is hilarious and worth the price.

Incompetent management. Advertised as having fully equipped kitchen which was misleading, eg no dinner plates, no wine glasses, no kettle, stove lights not working, microwave very poorly located. Main room lighting and television set not working. Cupboards filled with housekeeping equipment so limited space, which was further restricted by jammed sliding doors. Had to ask for towels.

Nice little appartment. My wife, two daughters and I stayed for three nights. It served its' purpose well which was to give us a reasonably priced room in the centre of Paris. For anyone from Australia, the room would be considered small, but it had a kitchenette with small table, enough cooking and eating utensils for four people, a washingmachine, bath/shower. The room was also very secure. One point to remember is that we found the very small lift difficult with our luggage. But if you are reasonably agile you will be OK. At least you will not have to lug your bag up five flights of stairs. Overall we found the room met our expectations and allowed us to be in the centre of Paris.

We are very pleased with the apartment. Location is perfect! We love Latin Quarter and this apt is at the very heart of it. Metro is just a few yards, there's our favorite bookstore Gilbert Jeune at the corner. Notredame is just a walking distance. What we love about it is it has a balcony where we can sit and just people watch and see the actions at night. We will definitely stay here again

I was a little worried as contact with the manager proved impossible until the day before I arrived, but she called me and thereafter all went smoothly. The rooms (I booked both studios) were slightly tatty but clean (we were the last customers before they were completely refurbished); the person deputed to help was very friendly. The area is very touristy but central. Highly recommended. Some tacky restaurants nearby but also good bakery

What a great place to stay in Paris. The apartment location was outstanding. The room was nice, though the pullout sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable. The only downside to staying here was the trouble with checking in. I had a hard time figuring out how to contact the owner to set up a time to meet. Then when we met, he forgot to give us the pin number to get in the front door! But once we were in the apartment, it was really nice, with small kitchen and fridge to keep all the cheese we bought. There is a nice little balcony to overlook the street below. The location was nice, only 2 minute was to a metro stop, good internet cafe, wonderful bakery, etc. i would stay here again or recommend this place. It is an exceptional value for Paris!

the appartment is located in the very center of the quartier latin close to St. Michel and St. Germain des Pres. It is located on the 6th floor, reachable with an elevator from the 1st floor on. the (1 room) appartment is spacious (for Parisien standards!) and ideal also for families with kids (we had a little baby girl with us)

we loved the position of this room, great location, enjoyed sitting on the balcony having a glass of wine watching the street life while the kids went to sleep. although it did lack lighting and not all lamps worked.

We were very annoyed that there was no back up services to this appartment. We were cold at night and could not get in touch with person in charge to get more blankets. Also the sink got blocked and again no back-up. This was disappointing -we asked for a small re-imbursemnet but again we have heard nothing. Booking an independent appartment seems to run these risks. Monica Haughey and robert Eagar

Apartment was not ready for occupancy when we arrived because of an electrical problem, and we were put up at a hotel in an inferior location. Hotel was mediocre. The owners made the transfers and were helpful, but it meant breaking up our trip by two moves. Location is as good as you could find in Paris, just steps from restaurants and Notre Dame.

We appreciate they received us very early on a Sunday morning, but for some reason they were not expecting 4 people, so some things were missing, which was sorted out the following day. Apartment would need a bit of TLC but this is compensated by such the good location (international restaurants area and just round the corner from Notre Dam)

In the property facilities section, it is stated "Free Parking". The truth is that it has NO PARKING FACILITIES at all. And the nearest garage costs 23eur/day. The welcoming was awful. While driving towards Paris, we phoned the owner to tell her we would arrive at 7pm. We got there at 8:15pm because of traffic problems. But there was nobody waiting. We called her twice and an answer machine responded. After 15 minutes, she called me back and said that somebody would come in 20 minutes. I explained her that we were in a hurry, we had to attend the Rolling Stones concert! She gave us no other choice but to wait. Thanks to this lady, we missed 30 minutes of the concert. The person who gave us the keys wanted to charge us 135eur/night and the price agreed through venere was 110eur/night. In the end, we payed the amount agreed while making the reservation. The door cannot be locked from inside the appartment. The elevator didn't work, so we had to use the stairs and the appartment is located on the 6th floor.

This flat was exactly what we were looking for: small, relatively cheap and in a good location. The neighbourhood is fun, and we found the place very easily with the directions. This flat was small but very clean, and while older, was well kept. I was really impressed with the water pressure, being used to drippy showers in Europe. This shower had some punch! Overall I was very pleased with it. The only problem was that they did not take credit cards. We missed their email informing us of this so we had to go running through the Latin Quarter at 7:30 p.m. trying to find a bank machine and a bureau de changes! Otherwise, we were happy with our experience.

The flat was in a great location, was clean and pleasant. However it was very LOUD every night. Some nights just from foot traffic, other nights loud rap music, shouting, party making etc. This is definitely a place for the younger traveller who isn't bothered by being kept up until the wee hours (2-3am) and wants to be in a dynamite location. It wasn't cheap. We wish we had known about the sound problem and would have stayed in a quieter place in perhaps a less central location.

Location: It is very centrally located which makes things like deciding to take an evening boat trip or get some ice cream or catch a taxi easy. (Remember, we are a family of four - everything is an expedition.) There is a boulangerie and a tiny grocery/general store and lots! of restaurants but if you want to shop for food in a variety of little specialty shops like in an old-fashioned Paris neighborhood, you will find it hard to do (try the Marais, not the Latin Quarter). The apt is as small as it can possibly be and still accommodate 4 but what did you expect? This is city living. Facilities: when we got there, there were not dining room chairs for four but we asked about it and they appeared that evening. The sofa bed is old and noisy as such rental sofa beds get. We put the mattress on the floor which worked fine. Building security was excellent, all the fixtures worked (except I could not make local calls on the phone without some sort of account number which I didn't have; being from the states, I also didn't have a cell phone; a working local phone would have been nice). Noise: it is a bit like sleeping over the food court in the mall. It is a very lively vibrant street with lots of small restaurants. It was not violent noise but happy noise. If you want quiet, go somewhere else.
