If you are looking for a charming Siena B&B but aren't quite sure what to choose, the L'Aia Country Holidays Monteriggioni Bed and Breakfast is just the place. Located a quick drive from the center of the historic city, evening strolls or afternoon drives around wine country are made easy from this great base point.
This Tuscan accommodation consists of three apartments and some individual rooms which are spaced around an open courtyard, all housed in newly renovated farm buildings. There is regular bus service into nearby Siena, and a shop and bar are within walking distance.
A stay at L'Aia B&B offers you the best of both worlds, with the atmosphere and views of the Tuscan countryside coupled with the convenience of Siena pretty much on your doorstep. A bar and shops as well as a bus stop are within easy walking distance. The land around L'Aia is still very active, and the owners produce their own olive oil and wine.

Place was great but room a bit small with bare bones amenities. The towels were not of high quality and they did not supply shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, etc. Which is fine for the price. But would have been helpful if I would have known to bring my own. Would definitely recommend this place to friends as it was a great value and very beautiful!

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. The room was nice and cool even if it was very hot outside and the air conditioning did not work very well. The garden and pool area was well kept. The breakfast was only OK, no service and the food could be improved.

The need to go first to the hotel to get the keys is not very convenient. The breakfast could be easily improved by supplying hot water and bread.

I just loved L'Aia. It was so close and convienient for Siena, but managed a lovely country feel - nice gardens, pool and a great outlook. We found it quite easily - which others seem to have had a few problems with - and found a well-appointed apartment (Papaveri), kept spotlessly clean for us. Breakfast was maybe a bit basic- coffee, pastries and cheese and salami - but again it suited us fine to start the day. The only thing we could find amiss was the lack of restaurants and bars within an easy walk of the property - but Siena was only a couple of kilometres away, and we enjoyed the bonus of a great quiet area. For a nice relaxing break, close to Siena and the local attractions, at a good price too, for us L'Aia is hard to beat. We will be back !!

Great place to stay. Great apartment rooms and you could not ask for better outside views and surroundings. We never actually found any breakfast.

First time in B&B. Near to Siena. Very beautiful pool. Great bathroom, shower and box. Good air conditioning, but we couldn't control it. Fast check-in, but not in the B&B building. This information should be provided in the reservation confirmation. Poor breakfast. Very beautiful surroudings. Beautiful view from the pool, to the tuscan hills. Really quiet place. Clean pool. Free parking.

It was a wonderful place with great vistas. The buildings look better in person than the pictures. We were fortunate that someone was at the location when we arrived so check-in was easy. Since no employees live on the property there is not someone on the premisis all the time. Someone comes over from another location when needed, and it takes time. I watched a few arrivals wait for almost an hour before someone was there to check them in. At check-in Stefano suggested that we pay in advance so we did not have to check out. Seeing how long it took for someone to come when called, that was a great decision. The unit was neat and clean, the kitchen had dishes, silverware, pots and pans, a refrigirator and stove. In addition our unit had a washer so we could do laundry. There was no daily maid service. While it is in wakling distance to a restaurnant and a few shops, the road is narrow and the traffic makes it a very dangerous walk. Also, while it is listed as being in Montiregioni, it is just outside of Siena. We had a car so it was very convient. (I also suggest renting a GPS from AutoEurope when renting a car) Siting at the beautiful pool, loking over our olive grove to the adjacent farms was breathtaking. Stefano, (I think the son of the owner) was very accomidating. He made reservations at restaurants for us, brought extra towels when requested, and was all around very helpful in answering questions. His english is very good. They also have Internet access (you buy prepaid cards from Stefano) in a small building that also has gym equipment for your use. Between the buildings, sound traveled with the windows open. (It was air conditioned and the units worked well. However, it was so pleasant with the windows open at night.) You could also hear some traffic as the buildings are right next to the road. Everyone was considerate and quiet at night so it was not a problem. I would highly recommend L'Aia Country Holidays as great value for the price.

I was a bit decieved by the term "Bed and Breakfast". The "breakfast" was a couple of pre-packaged items and a coffee maker that didn't work. On our arrival, there was nobody at L'aia, we had to telephone someone to come check us in. The "staff", accessible only by phone, was indeed courteous. There wasn't much to do around L'Aia, but it's biggest redeeming quality, besides the heater that rarely worked, and the beautiful Tuscan countryside, was Terzo Girone, a restaurant around the corner. And of course, the rooms were very comfortable, but so far away from the town. If you stay at L'Aia, rent a car.
