The apartment is is a rather poor area - lots of people hanging out on street corners etc - felt a little unsafe. Just 200 metres further north the character of the old town changed and seemed better.However we had no bad experience.

The apartment was imaculately clean and tidy. The only negative thing to say is that if you sleep in the sofabed ( in the livingroom/kitchenarea) you will hear all the people passing by. There is no traffic but quite a lot of people on weekend nights. It is situated in the old part of town with alleys all around, close to the Ramblas. Good place to stay for a few days if you want to see the sights.

How to reach Ramblas Apartamentos

From Barcelona El Prat International Airport
By bus: take the Aerobus bus shuttle to the center, located outside the Arrivals terminal. The Aerobus leaves every 10-15 minutes and stops at Plaça de Catalunya stop (the ride takes about 30 minutes). From Plaça de Catalunya square, take the L3 underground to Drassanes.
By train: take the L1 RENFE train to Plaça de Catalunya (the ride takes about 25 minutes). Trains leave every 30 minutes, from 6.13 a.m. to 11.40 p.m. From Plaça de Catalunya square, take the L3 underground to Drassanes.

By ferry
The hotel is within walking distance from the port.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the apartment is available after 2 p.m. Remember to contact the owner from the airport/train station or, if travelling by car, when you are near Barcelona. The owner will go to the apartment only after your phone call. In case of arrivals out of the agreed time (over 30 minutes) you are kindly asked to contact the owner, who will be waiting for you. Upon arrival you will be asked for the total amount of your stay. In case of arrivals after 8 p.m. the following charges (to be paid directly at the reception) apply: arrivals between 8 a.m. and midnight: €20,00; arrivals between midnight and 7 a.m.: €50,00; and arrivals between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.: €20,00.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the apartment not later than noon. Upon arrival it is necessary to provide the departure time. As a rule, the owner will go back to the apartment to pick up the keys and guests must be ready to leave. If guests do not respect the agreed check-out time or if check-out takes place after midday, the amount of an extra night will be charged. The total amount of the deposit will be refunded if guests leave the apartment in the same conditions that it was upon arrival. Check-out before 8 a.m. is subject to an extra charge of €30,00.
