Akzent Hotel Schranne - Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. The room was small, but clean. The staff was not the friendliest but it could just be the culture difference. I think it was a little on the expensive for what you got, but you are in a touristy town! Breakfast was good. Make sure you don't lose your plastic key card or they will charge you 20 euros for a replacement!

Room was clean & quiet but the smallest (of 7 different hotels) we encountered during our 2 wk tour of central/southern Germany, Salzburg, Austria & Venice, Italy Hotel is convenient to downtown restaurants & souvenir shopping. Hotel has an elevator which was a plus! Excellent buffet breakfast. GREAT service at check in. Overall I would recommend hotel but would request a larger room if available.

Excellent location, helpful staff, free parking although limited. Very good choice for visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber, especially if you are travelling by car.

We really liked the Schranne Hotel. The bathroom in the triple was nice & modern with a magnifying mirror. Breakfast room was very pleasant. Meal out on patio was good. Service was congenial and owners were very relaxed and cooperative. The only drawback was Venere said the rooms included A/C but hotel said Venere rooms didn't include A/C.

The hotel is located on the large square nr walls[go to carpark 5 initially,then you will be directed to private carpark.Nice bedroom with windowboxes over looking square,good breakfast.R/o/d/T gorgeous spot, quaint and colourful.good stay.

We were greeted by Nadine as soon as we entered the parking lot. She assisted us with check-in, personally walked us to our room and then proceeded to direct us to the exact spot where we were to park our car. Breakfast was typical for the region and was of good quality and freshness. The hotel location is good, inside the city walls. I recommend this hotel and found it to be of good value. The one item they need to offer is free internet.

Very simple hotel in a delightful city. Good for a nights stay...passing through.

Hotel is a 15-minute uphill walk from the train station but the city is charming. Location is a little hard to find once you are inside the wall but we were just across the street from wall access and only 3-4 blocks from the Christmas Market. Public areas were small but the restaurant and the breakfast buffet were quite good. Room was basic but clean and had comfortable beds and a small, updated bathroom. Tiny elevator (standard for Europe). Girl sitting inside reception when we left told us she didn't work there and was busy and didn't have time to answer our question. There was a bell to ring for assistance. Everyone else was helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

The room was just fine, except for the spiders. There were several spiders in our room. The bathroom was a nice size, too. The breakfast that was offered, however, wasn't all that great.

We stayed at the Hotel Schranne for three nights and found it to be excellent. It is in a wonderful location and the breakfast was very good. If you arrive by car there is adequate parking right behind the hotel.

Excellent location. I was disappointed with the rooms: dark and outdated and paperwalls: could here sounds from every bathroom nearby. Staff is friendly, breakfast was fine.

This hotel is a very nice value. Wonderful food, both breakfast and dinner. Location is about 3 blocks from center of town. It appears to accommodates groups well. We would have preferred something a little more quiet and "romantic." But, all in all it was a very pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The people were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had lots of room for our family of three in a superior double. The hotel was quiet and within easy walking distance of all the sights in town. I would recommend it!

Thre is large pay parking in front of hotel. It didn't disturb us (but I don't known how it will be in summer). And just outside the town wall (100 meters away) is free parking. I think it is useful

Extremely welcoming staff, and very spacious rooms. The restaurant was nice, with a free appertif included. Quite close to the main centre of town. When we stayed there were some noisier guests, but they didn't disturb us at all. Mostly Asian guests at the hotel when we were there. I don't recall any lift for luggage, but staff were helpful.

As a family of 5, we were traveling from Frankfurt to Berlin and decided to overnight in an interesting and traditional german site, and we found it! We regret not having the opportunity to stay longer than one night but if we had it, would like to stay at that lovely place again. People from the community were nice and assistance oriented and we are grateful for it. We recommend the Akzent Hotel to families and individuals who wish to have a real german experience.

The hotel and its services were great once we found it. It is located in the walled precinct of the old city and we could not find the car entrance. A much better map needs to be supplied. Staff were great as was restaurant and bar. Beautiful surroundings.

My husband and I visited the first week of May 2007 and we had not been here before. We had some rain, but this did not impede our enjoyment of this wonderful walled town. We were only a few blocks walk from the square. The parking was perfect as it was a large lot. The food and service was great. The room and furniture size were typically European. We did have a qeen bed that was totally comfortable. The deep, but short tub-shower made for a marvelous soak after a long trip. I would return in a heartbeat.

This was a very nice place to stay. The hotel is in the old city and is within easy walking distance to all the major sights. The train station is the only thing not close to the hotel. I recommend taking a taxi from the train station to the hotel if you are carrying more than a backpack- this cost us 5 Euro per trip and was well worth the money.

Quiet, comfortable, quaint hotel in a wonderful town. Great location--walking distance to anything inside Rothenburg walls. Breakfast was good, restaurant looked good although we didn't eat there, nice patio out front. Parking area was right behind the hotel and no extra charge.

This was our first night in Germany. Flew into Frankfurt, rented a car and headed south. Worked great. Had supper in the hotel restaurant including spargel soup.

We are a family of 5. We reserved the night prior- double and triple.The woman who greeted us at the hotel was exceptionally friendly. She walked us to our room, and walked us through to parking.There is a private lot in back. She made sure we knew how to get to all of the sights. There was a good German breakfast included in the price. The location is fabulous! There was no air conditioning, but it wasn't advertised. We would stay there again.

A lovely little hotel in a perfect postion which has a real family feel. The only downsides were that we had one of the smaller rooms (a problem if you have more than one suit case) and the hotel had NO airconditioning or room fans.

Great location just inside the city wall. Large public parking lot in front of hotel. Easy walk to town center. Bathroom very small, clean room.

Excellent facilities. Location awesome for travelers arriving by automobile. Park free of charge outside the wall in the P5 lot, and walk in. No need to drive in city. Staff is fiendly and very helpful. Accomodations excellent for the price.

Very nice and clean hotel right in the heart of Rothenburg ob der Tauber (right in the medieval city).

The hotel was convenient, attractive, quiet, and reasonably priced. Service at the hotel was efficient. The breakfast was quite good and had a good variety of items. I was pleased that I was able to get decaf coffee. The room was quite small, but we spent very little time there, so it was not a problem.

Hotel decor charming- staff especially courteous and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a nice hotel in Rothenburg, in the old part. It is one of our favorite hotels.

Nice hotel with good German breakfast. Not the largest of rooms, but not the smallest either.

This hotel was fine for a night or two, but the breakfasts were quite poor and we felt that our bathroom was far to small. Otherwise the location was good and the town of ROthenburg is well worth a visit.

Excellent hotel located in a small square just inside the old town wall . Bus stop for Castle and Romantic Roads is on same square . Cost of meals reasonable . Has nice dining room but for atmosphere , recommend eating dinner in the rear courtyard .

Hotel Schranne made our stay an enjoyable visit. Their location within the city of Rothenburg was excellent. Everything in the walled city was within walking distance. Their staff was friendly and took good care of us. The day that we checked out, I forgot a gift I had bought for my granddaughter on their front steps. I realized that the gift was missing three hours on the road away from the hotel. I called back and Selka had my gift in safe keeping for me. She took the time to see that the gift was sent to my home address in California. I cannot thank her enough.

Ideal for a family with children. Meals at restaurent are good at a reasonable price.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and the town of Rothenburg. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was very enjoyable too.

Rooms are very clean and price is good, so next time I will go to Rortenburg, I would like to stay at this hotel.
