exterior La Caminata exterior In a small Tuscan village stands "la Caminata" country house, once a monastery, in front of Monteriggioni Medieval castle. 13 apartments finely renovated in classic Tuscan style are shrouded amongst vineyards and olive groves. La caminata is to be found 30 metres from the old Frankish road and offers all sorts of excursions on foot on Montagnola Senese, which stretchesin the opposite direction in the Chianti Classico area. Amateur fishing lakes are a stone's throw away. The cities of sien, Florence, and San Gimignano are easy to reach on public transport to avoid parking problems.

La Caminata was the best place I ever booked via Venere. I recommend for everybody, from the families with children up to old couples. The appartments are well equipped, very nice old building, perfect kitchen also equipped with everything, the bathroom is excellent, and clean, cooling/heating system in each appartment. The size of the appartments are huge with very confortable beds in it. If you want to make barbecue you can find a nice standalone fireplace pool with leisure beds. Fantastic scenic view to the village of Monte Riggioni. The only problem is the communication, because the staff cannot speak any other language then italian, but they are also very nice people. The red wine of "la Caminata" very teasty at reasonable price (€4.50/bottle). La Caminata is situlated in the middle of Toscany, very good starting point for make excursion to Siena, and Florence, and to the fantastic Chianti region. The free highway is 2 min. by car. If we travel to Toscany we don't want to sleep at any other place. It's fantastic.

The studio was quite small with a mezzanine where was the bed (very hot in the summer). We had to pay extra for air conditionning that did not even work. The bathroom was not very clean. Feel a bit ripped off. We do not recommand this accomodation. Nevertheless Monterriggioni is a very nice place to visit and to stay. Le studio était assez petit, la chambre était en mezzanine (très chaud en Eté). Nous avons du payer un supplément pour la climatisation qui ne marchait même pas. La salle de bains n'était pas propre. On s'est senti un peu arnaqués. Nous ne recommandons pas ce gîte. Toutefois Monteriggioni est un très joli endroit à visiter et où résider pour ses vacances.
