The inn “Osteria del Borgo” is administered by Mrs. Nadia. The guestrooms are located in a Historical Medieval Building near Piazza Grande, in the heart of Montepulciano’s historical center. It was recently restored and it’s composed of two very elegant and refined apartments. The apartment that faces Via Ricci is on two levels; on the first floor we have a double room with a full bath and a hydro massage shower cabin, a very bright and cosy living room, with a kitchen corner. On the second floor you can find a double and single room with a private bath and a whirlpool tub. Also the traditional Tuscan furnishings with corners apt for reading or just simply for relaxing make you feel as if you were at home. The entire living quarters have wooden floors and linings; there is also a living room with and old fireplace which constitutes the heart of the room itself. The apartment that faces the hills of Siena offers an enchanted view to the wondering eye, with the Temple of Saint Biagio of the San Gallo the Old. The apartment is also on two levels; on the first floor there is a bedroom with a small living room and a bath with a hydro massage shower cabin. The living room has a very particular loft with a kitchen corner. On the second floor there are two double bedrooms with baths and hydro massage shower cabins. On the ground floor you will find the tavern also known in Italian as the “Osteria”, an architectural structure with barrel vaults which must probably date back to the Etruscan era and a breath taking terrace which attracts tourists from all around the world. The location of the building offers our guests the possibility of visiting the Historical Center on foot and in the Summer season our Piazza Grande (our main square) plays host to a variety of musical and theatrical events, an assurance that your nights will be unforgettable.

Rooms at Osteria del Borgo

suite The rooms are very cosy and elegant with bathrooms and a hydro massage shower cabin. The living room is quite bright, with a wonderful panoramic view of the beautiful Temple of Saint Biagio and the Tuscan hills on one side while on the other side you have a tear’s view of the beautiful Piazza Grande, which hosts the Duomo, the Town Hall, and the palaces of Contucci, Tarugi and the Capitano del Popolo. The rooms offer comfort and are furnished with special care, they offer a relaxing environment, but they can also be a place of study. There are also areas which can be used for relaxation or reading, for example the wooden loft with a wonderful truss. The rooms will be ready at your arrival and the cleaning will be done once a week including the change of linens. On the ground floor you will find the “Osteria” or tavern, a very suggestive place, where you will be able to taste local dishes typical of this area known also as the “città Poliziana” and some wonderful wines which can be consumed inside at the table, or on the terrace, where besides tasting the wonderful food specialties you can enjoy also the breath taking view. From 9 o’clock, breakfast will be served to all of our guests staying with us.

How to reach Accommodation Osteria del Borgo

By car
Valdichiana – Bettolle Exit
Take the exit on the highway (Autostrada A1) Valdichiana-Bettolle( n.28 ), follow the signs for Montepulciano. Once in Montepulciano and specifically at the Saint Agnese roundabout, continue straight on for about 300 mt. (328 yd.); once you crossover the small bridge where on your right you will find the ACI auto breakdown service; turn right and from here continue straight on for the Historical Center (centro storico) where you will reach Piazza Grande.

Chiusi Chianciano Terme Exit
Take the exit on the highway (Autostrada A1) Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (n.29); follow the signs for Chianciano, then for Montepulciano. You then arrive at a fork in the road, where right in front of you will find the Temple of Saint Biagio, there turn right towards Montepulciano, and after about 300 mt. (328 yd.) or so, turn left following the signs for the Historical Center. Turn at your first left, follow the road all the way up until you reach Piazza Grande.
