Hotel AC Villamarí - Barcelona

We stayed for 3 nights over the New Years Eve holiday. We arrived early so they let us leave our luggage in the front desk area until check-in. At check-in, we asked if there was free internet connection (since we had this at our last hotel in Madrid) and the receptionist responded rudely, as if we were too demanding for asking (I think the cost was €12/24hrs). Upon entering our room, there was an obvious smoke odor so we requested a room change. After that, it was pretty clear the receptionist didn't like us because the rest of our stay she avoided any eye contact and did not even say another "Hello" to us. Fortunately, the rooms are modern and clean with flat screen TVs. We had a double room which was not particularly large but had enough room for two of us (the second room was smaller than the first). However, the bathroom wasn't well laid out. The toilet was positioned awkwardly, such that you have to climb around it when getting out of the tub which is unfortunate since the rest of the room was nice. The location is a little further away from the more popular hotel areas. Even though the hotel is right down the street from Monjuic the neighborhood feels a little more residential. All in all, I'm not sure I'd stay here again primarily because of the location. And while the rooms were good, that one receptionist really ruined made us feel unwelcome.

a member of our group had there bag stolen on the way to the hotel, the hotel staff were extremely helpful in this matter and directed us to the near by police station, hotel was modern and very clean. with the added bonus of the free mini bar in the room. would def stay here again

Had a great trip to Barcelona, hotel in a really good location, right next to the Metro. This was my 3rd trip to Bacelona and this is the best plcae I stayed. The mini bar in the room was free which was excellent although there was only one beer a day in there! The bathroom was fantastic and the shower really really good! Would definitley stay here again!!

Very nice hotel with knowledgeable staff. Unlimited drinks, coffee and snacks a plus.

Atmosfera distinta e lussuosa, ogni tipo di confort a portata di mano. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Posizione buona per visitare la città anche senza auto.

the hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The added bonus of free booze, cakes and coffee was a lovely suprise (available from 11am-8pm). While not in the heart of the Rambles - three stops on the underground (line 3). However it was possible to walk this distance in 20-30 mins depending on your speed. The sites local to the hotel are well worth a look and you are about a 10 mins from the Art Museum. Had a wonderful stay would use this hotel again.

A modern stylish hotel, immaculately presented and in a good central location. The bedrooms are attractive and well equiped but quite small. Bathrooms can only be described as 'compact' but again very stylish and an excellent level of equipment supplied. Great power shower. Overall a very pleasant hotel, recommended.

The marble bathroom and glass sink were swish features. The free access to bottles of mineral water and fruit were very welcome particularly in the heat of the afternoon. The only downside was that I was not given the option of having breakfast included when I booked the room. Being only a few minutes away from the Espanya Metro station, I would recommend this hotel for work and leisure.
