Abba Balmoral Hotel - Barcelona

The Hotel Balmoral is a very nice hotel within walking distance to the metro, making it convenient to the entire city. It is fully modern with all the conveniences. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, beds comfortable. It doesn't have an interesting view out the windows, but we were only there to sleep so it didn't matter. We really enjoyed out stay here.

The Balmoral Hotel was very nice, although, we found the front desk staff to be professional but not at all welcoming. If you are English speaking, I recommend the hotel only if you are familiar with Barcelona and in no need of assistance.

Nice, pleasant, very good location. In the 1st room, the window did'nt close perfectly, inducing street noise. The 2nd room provided was perfect. Breakfast could be improved. Very good stay.

Seating area too small.

The hotel is nice,close to the main streets,i felt safe walking in the night with my friends.When we arrived they gave us a tiny room,we asked for a bigger one and they gave us a room with balcony on the street.The Gracia quarters is really close and in august there is a very very nice fiesta.I recommend this hotel,workes at recepcion are very nice and helpful.

Real 4 * hotel with spacious & clean rooms. Nice sound proofing, very important as it is near some busy avenues (Diagonal & Augusta). Personally very close to downtown (p.Catalunya at 1,8km, full of shops, nice stroll to make), metro station at 300 meters, bakery, restaurants, very convenient.

This was our second visit to the Balmoral for 2008. We like the quiet area & generally the hotel itself. The receptionists should learn how to smile ,mentioned to them that this was a return visit ,but they were not in the least interested . Apart from that only comment would be to say that they ought to replace , or clean bedroom carpets. I would recommend this hotel.

Only the garage fee 15€ per night is excessive

A fairly long walk from the main 'Ramblas' (30 mins?) and also, therefore, the old quarter but closer to the cathedral and still a wide range of Tapas bars within easy reach. For a top destination like Barcelona we felt that 120 Euros for two nights in an above average hotel was excellent value.

Hotel in una zona tranquilla e della Barcellona "bene"; ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo e nel complesso tutto decisamente buono.

Hotel is in a beautiful and strategic area; very close to Gracia quarter and 5 minutes walking to subway station "Diagonal". You can get even to the ramblas by walking (20/25 minutes). hotel is clean and comfortable.
